Overwatch 2 Season 17 gets map voting in Quick Play and Competitive

Here’s how map voting works in Overwatch 2 and a closer look at the new Aatlis location!

In the upcoming Season 17 of Overwatch 2, starting from June 24th, players will have a fresh opportunity to shape their gaming experience with the introduction of map voting. This exciting, player-influencing feature allows gamers to decide on the battlefield before the action unfolds. Here’s what you need to know about the innovative Overwatch 2 map voting system!

Overwatch 2 map voting explained

In Overwatch 2 Season 17, starting June 24th, there’s a new feature called Map Voting. This will be available in both Quick Play and Competitive game modes. Once you’ve selected your role, you’ll be presented with three random maps to pick from. Then, it’s up to you to cast your vote for the map where you want to engage in battle.

According to Blizzard Entertainment, each vote increases the probability on that map by approximately 1 in 10 chances. Furthermore, the winner is determined through a random draw, similar to spinning a roulette wheel.

In Overwatch 2, the map voting process conceals team conversations, player IDs (battle tags), individual vote choices, and also initiates a leaver penalty for those who leave during the map voting phase.

New Overwatch 2 maps

In Season 17 of Overwatch 2, Aatlis makes its debut as a main map. This is an innovative Flashpoint map designed in Morocco, boasting lush gardens, lavish resorts, and combat situations that are closer and more high-stakes.

Regarding the Stadium game mode in Overwatch 2, you’ll find some fresh elevation levels in Esperança, along with the debut of Samoa!
