Overwatch 2 Season 16 Launches Today With New ‘Stadium’ Game Mode

Today, Overwatch 2’s Season 16: Stadium has been rolled out by Blizzard, introducing Stadium as a continuous game mode. This round-based best-of-seven competition invites players to battle it out, accumulating Stadium Cash in the process. This currency can be utilized to unlock extraordinary abilities that could potentially shift the tides of the game.

The stadium provides an option to toggle between first-person and third-person views, and there are fresh incentives to earn by advancing in rank. Additionally, a new character named Freja, both a Damage Hero and Bounty Hunter, joins the fray. She adds mobility, precision, and a strategic approach to aggression to the battlefield.

Freja wields a Revdraw Crossbow that fires multiple projectiles swiftly, while her Bola Shot Ultimate pulls enemies towards each other, making them easier targets for your team’s heavy attacks. Additionally, fresh skins are available, such as Mythic Heart of Hope Juno and the upcoming Mercy’s Merciful Magitech Mythic Weapon Skin during this season.

In addition to the introduction of the hero ban system in Competitive Play, a fresh Battle Pass filled with goodies is now available, along with an array of new Shop skins. Overwatch Classic makes its return as well, and there’s plenty more exciting content on offer. Today marks the start of Overwatch 2 Season 16: Stadium across Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and PC platforms.
