Blizzard has unveiled the details for Overwatch 2 Season 15, which includes an array of exciting additions. Among these is the introduction of the Perks system, a special Perked Up event, a fresh start in Competitive mode, an eye-catching mythic Zenyatta skin, and a free Rainy Day Mei skin available through Twitch drops, along with numerous other features.

In simpler terms, the main points of the Overwatch 2 Season 15 update are highlighted, giving players a preview of what they’ll encounter when starting the game now. The update initially focuses on the introduction of the Pixiu Zenyatta skin along with its Gilded Aspect customization option.
Moving forward, the update details introduce loot boxes to Overwatch 2 from this season onwards. Notably, you stand a chance to receive up to three loot boxes weekly by playing 27 games in total per week. Keep in mind that winning a match will double your progress. Furthermore, there’s an opportunity to claim a free legendary loot box in the standard version of the Battle Pass, while the premium edition allows you to earn an additional two legendary loot boxes.

Overwatch 2 Season 15 patch notes
Today’s Overwatch 2 update details changes to the competitive game mode. This reset of skill ranks allows players to earn fresh Galactic weapon skins and rewards for weapons charms. The new Galactic weapon designs can be obtained using Competitive Points. In contrast, Jade and Gold weapons are now considered legacy rewards that can be purchased with Legacy Competitive Points. Your Competitive Points for 2024 have been converted into an in-game currency of this kind.
Regarding the latest updates in competition, you’re now able to display your abilities with rank emblems. On a different note, Hanaoka and Throne of Anubis have been removed from the map selection pool.
In terms of overall changes, the creators have disclosed that custom lines can now be played by individual players without influencing their opponents. Additionally, the patch notes mention that emotes can now be stopped during their animation, shortly after they’ve been initiated.
