As a seasoned Overwatch 2 gamer with countless hours logged in, I can confidently say that Season 12 has truly outdone itself! The arrival of Juno, a fresh and intriguing support hero, is just the tip of the iceberg. The Mythic Anubis Reaper skin adds a touch of elegance to my collection, and the mid-year rank reset gives me a chance to climb back up those ranks I so hastily fell from.


Here is what’s happening in the brand-new season.

The twelfth season of Overwatch 2 has just begun! This new season introduces a fresh support hero named Juno and the mythic Anubis Reaper skin. It also features updates for competitive play, as well as two new maps: Hanaoka and Throne of Anubis. There’s even more to discover about Season 12 of Overwatch 2! On August 20, 2024, at 11 a.m. Pacific Time (PT), I was thrilled to find that the new season had begun! That same hour marked 2 p.m. Eastern Time (ET), 7 p.m. British Summer Time (BST), and 8 p.m. Central European Summer Time (CEST). Now, with the game loaded, I’m ready to dive right into the action as Juno, the latest support hero added to our roster! Excitingly, this new character is also playable in the ranked mode of the game.

As a thrilled fan, let me share some exciting news about the new season! Alongside Juno’s grand entrance, we can look forward to a plethora of engaging content and updates. The Mythic Anubis Reaper skin is one such treat, along with a mid-year rank reset, enhancements for Flashpoint, improved Avoid a Teammate functionality, potential collaborations with World of Warcraft, the introduction of Hanaoka and Throne of Anubis Clash maps, and the Premium and Ultimate Battle Passes that offer exclusive skins and tier skips. Buckle up, folks! It’s going to be an incredible ride!

Some notable events during the season feature the Midnight Sun Ana weapon skin, updates to Lifeweaver, new Mastery missions for Zarya and Pharah, the Overwatch 2 Anniversary event of 2024, as well as the return of popular game modes like Mirrorwatch and the one originally presented during April Fools’ Day.

Don’t forget about the new shop skins for several heroes such as Genji, D.Va, Pharah, Mercy, Echo, Kiriko, and Soldier: 76.
