Overwatch 2 roadmap 2025 reveals new heroes, systems, maps, and more

As a passionate Overwatch 2 gamer, I’m excited to share the upcoming plans from our developers! The roadmap for 2025 encompasses not just Season 15, but also Seasons 16, 17, and 18, taking us beyond what we currently know. Let me fill you in on what’s coming next!

Overwatch 2 roadmap 2025

Overwatch 2’s schedule for the year unveils plans not just for Season 15, but also for Seasons 16, 17, and 18 that lie ahead. For instance, Season 15 introduces loot boxes, whereas Season 16 introduces Freja as a new character. On the other hand, Season 17 offers map voting, and Season 18 welcomes Aqua into the game. As usual, each season comes with its own Battle Pass too.

In Overwatch 2 Season 15, there’s a wealth of new content such as rare Zenyatta and Widowmaker skins labeled “Mythic”, the debut of Perks, competitive updates offering a reset, Galactic weapons, and end-of-season weapon charms. Mid-season additions include 6v6 modes for both Competitive and Quickplay. Additionally, players can participate in an Overwatch Classic event called GOATS. As a bonus, there’s a collaboration with the K-pop group LE SSERAFIM. Towards the end of the season, players will have the opportunity to try out Freja before she officially arrives in Season 16.

Players will be thrilled to discover the DokiWatch skin line and some new collaborations too!

For Overwatch 2’s Season 17, we have the legendary D.Va costume and legendary Reaper weapon. Additionally, Aatlis has been introduced as a new Flashpoint map. We also see the introduction of map voting in Competitive Overwatch 2. Similar to the end of Season 15, there will be a hero trial, this time featuring a character known by the codename Aqua.

Overwatch 2 Season 18

As far as Overwatch 2 Season 18 goes, it’s been confirmed that Aqua is the new addition. This character is of Chinese origin and possesses the power to manipulate water. Blizzard has mentioned that further details about Aqua will be unveiled prior to his launch in Season 18.
