Overwatch 2 Quick Play Hacked Assault returns with nostalgic maps

Overwatch 2’s Quick Play Hacked Assault mode lets players battle it out on the Hanamura, Volskaya Industries, and Temple of Anubis maps.

Overwatch 2’s Season 20 update is here, bringing balance adjustments to heroes and a brand-new Mythic skin for Doomfist – the Magma Titan! Plus, the popular Quick Play Hacked Assault mode is back for a limited time.

Overwatch 2 Quick Play Hacked Assault

From January 8th to 11th, Overwatch 2 players can try out a special limited-time mode called Quick Play Hacked Assault. This mode features three classic maps – Hanamura, Volskaya Industries, and Temple of Anubis – which aren’t normally playable in the current version of Overwatch 2. Players will still be able to vote on which map to play before each match.

To play on Hanamura, Volskaya Industries, and Temple of Anubis again, select the “Quick Play Hacked Assault” mode from the top-right corner of the main menu. Look at the screenshots above for help finding it. Then, you can choose to play in 5v5, 6v6, or Mystery Heroes. The 5v5 option uses Role Queue, while the other modes are Open Queue.

  • 5v5 Quick Play: Hacked – Role Queue: Choose a role before you play.
  • 6v6 Quick Play: Hacked – Open Queue: Play any role. Maximum 2 tanks.
  • Mystery Heroes: Hacked – Open Queue: Defeat the enemy team with every player using heroes that randomly change upon respawn.

We played a mode called “Mystery Heroes Hacked,” where everyone starts with a randomly assigned hero and two initial perks. We managed to complete the game with Ashe without any deaths, but whenever a player was eliminated, they respawned as a different, random hero.
