Overwatch 2 OWCS World Finals head to DreamHack Stockholm

The ESL FACEIT Group (EFG) has declared that the Overwatch Champions Series (OWCS) tournament will hold its first-ever World Finals at DreamHack Stockholm.

From November 22nd through 24th, the OWCS World Finals will unfold in Stockholm, Sweden. During these days, eight Overwatch 2 teams will engage in intense competition to claim the championship title. Attendees will also have an opportunity to join a variety of activities at the event venue.

Starting today up until November 22nd, we have eight open slots for competition. The OWCS Stage 4 Open Qualifiers for North America (NA) and Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) will be taking place, with the victorious teams securing a place at the OWCS World Finals.

From DreamHack Dallas to DreamHack Stockholm

The upcoming OWCS World Finals at DreamHack Stockholm will capitalize on the excitement generated by the circuit’s event at DreamHack Dallas, where Crazy Raccoon emerged as the OWCS 2024 Major champions. In June of 2024, DreamHack Dallas welcomed over 55,000 attendees, necessitating extra seating for the Overwatch 2 section. At home, over 130,000 viewers peaked in their viewing of the esports competition.

Sean Miller, the leader of Overwatch Esports at Blizzard Entertainment, expressed his delight over the fact that the Overwatch World Cup Series surpassed predictions. Additionally, he shared his anticipation for concluding the year by hosting the inaugural championship of the OWCS in Europe.

Miller mentioned that our initial Overwatch Collegiate Showcase (OWCS) LAN event demonstrated the ongoing interest of Overwatch 2 enthusiasts in international competitions. He anticipates this enthusiasm and excitement will soar even higher in Stockholm.
