On November 17th, Blizzard released a trailer for the new Overwatch 2 hero, Vendetta, titled “La Lupa.” The trailer begins with the new hero reflecting on her father as she looks out at a cheering crowd. It’s revealed she’s become famous in the arena, earning the nickname “La Lupa,” which means “The Wolf.”

While battling her opponent, Vendetta remembered initially disliking the name ‘Vendetta,’ but she’d grown to accept—and even enjoy—being the arena’s villain. Her father had taught her that fear could be used as a powerful tool. He’d helped her control her impulsive behavior, guiding her to understand her enemies and exploit their strengths against them.

Eagle-eyed viewers noticed some familiar faces from Blackwatch appearing in the background of the new Overwatch 2 Vendetta trailer. These included Gabriel Reyes (Reaper), Cassidy, Moira, and Genji, hinting that Blackwatch was involved in the events surrounding Genji’s father’s death during the Retribution mission.

Vendetta remains driven by a desire to avenge her father’s enemies, but she has evolved. Her impulsive behavior is now channeled into fierce determination, and she fully accepts her identity as “The Wolf,” or “La Lupa.” She is determined to reclaim what was taken from her family.
