Overwatch 2 gets Gundam Wing collaboration

The upcoming trailer for Overwatch 2 featuring Gundam Wing characters is drawing near, however, some Gundam Wing character skins were prematurely revealed before the formal debut of the trailer.

Following hints dropped via social media updates and a YouTube video, Blizzard Entertainment officially confirmed that an Overwatch 2 x Gundam Wing trailer is imminent. Yet, the Overwatch 2 x Gundam Wing character skins were prematurely unveiled in a now-removed Polygon article.

As a dedicated gamer, I’ve learned that some awesome Overwatch 2 skins inspired by Gundam Wing are slated to drop. They include the Tallgeese Soldier: 76, Deathscythe Reaper, Wing Mercy, and Epyon Ramattra – can’t wait to get my hands on them!

This partnership honors the 30th anniversary of Gundam Wing. On April 1st, the authentic Overwatch 2 account on X platform responded to a post from an account focusing on Gundam, acknowledging the significant milestone.

For three decades, there have been extraordinary conflicts and tales worthy of legend, as the narrative declared. Here’s to thirty years, Gundam Wing!

Firstly, on the 17th of April, Overwatch 2 unveiled a Season 16 map detailing their upcoming collaboration. Subsequently, on the 23rd of April, their account hinted at the imminent release of a gameplay trailer for this collaboration.

Regarding the trailer, you can check it out here. Its debut is scheduled for April 28 at 9 a.m Pacific Time (PT), which corresponds to 12 p.m Eastern Time (ET). The teaser image hints that the Wing Mercy skin will be featured as mentioned earlier.

Regarding the latest happenings in Overwatch 2 Season 16, players can anticipate improvements to Stadium and Freja’s integration into the gameplay. On the other hand, the DokiWatch skins remain available for purchase through the in-game store and the Battle Pass for Season 16. Additionally, new Iridescent Aspects are up for collection, there will be hero bans in Competitive Play, and an Overwatch Classic event is scheduled soon.
