Previously, Blizzard unveiled that Freja is set to be the next damage character in Overwatch 2. She’s expected to debut during Season 16 of the game. Despite Season 15 only recently commencing, players won’t have a long wait before they can play as her! In addition, Freja will star in her own hero trailer, motion comic, and game trailer. The trial for playing Overwatch 2’s character Freja is scheduled from March 21 to March 24. During this period, gamers can test her skills and ultimate, as she will officially become a permanent part of the game in the upcoming season.

Because March 21 is a Friday, participants can spend the whole weekend experimenting with Freja. Given our observations from previous Overwatch 2 updates, it’s expected that the Freja trial could extend until the afternoon of March 25 rather than ending on March 24.

According to Blizzard, Freja is expected to debut in Overwatch 2 during Season 16. While they haven’t specified the exact release date for Season 16, considering the end date of our current Battle Pass and past update patterns, it seems reasonable to anticipate that Season 15 will conclude and Season 16 will commence around late April 2025, likely on a Tuesday.

Overwatch 2 Freja abilities

While waiting, players will have the chance to try out Freja’s equipment during the upcoming playtest. Her main attack is called Revdraw Crossbow, and her secondary attack is Take Aim. She also has Quick Dash and Updraft as her movement skills, with Bola Shot serving as her ultimate ability. Lastly, her passive skill is called Bounty Hunting.
