The Overwatch 2 and Avatar: The Last Airbender collaboration is back! Players can now complete challenges in the game to earn special rewards. You can find everything you need to know about the event – including how to get the free Katara Mei skin – below.
Overwatch 2 Avatar event 2025
The special Avatar event in Overwatch 2 starts December 16th and ends December 30th. During this time, players can complete challenges to earn free rewards like Battle Pass XP for Season 20, voice lines, weapon charms, a cute collectible, a name card, and a player title. You can also unlock the Katara Mei skin and a Waterbending emote.
Overwatch 2 Avatar challenges and rewards: Free Katara Mei skin
The Overwatch 2 Avatar event features a series of challenges with unique rewards! You can earn a free Katara Mei skin by completing seven challenges. Other rewards include the Cabbage Merchant player title, a cabbage-themed weapon charm, and a Cabbagemari souvenir – all inspired by the character Cai, a cabbage merchant from Avatar: The Last Airbender. If you prefer a specific nation from the show, you can also collect weapon charms representing them. Plus, be sure to unlock new voice lines for Zenyatta, Kiriko, Mei, and Venture.

You can get the Katara Mei skin for free by completing seven challenges during the event. However, the other Overwatch 2 skins inspired by Avatar: The Last Airbender need to be bought in the in-game shop. If you want all of them, the Avatar: The Last Airbender Mega Bundle includes all 32 items.
If you’ve already got a main, you can grab one of the bundles – they’re a good deal if you like a specific hero. Or, if you prefer to pick and choose, you can unlock each legendary skin separately for 1,900 Overwatch Coins in the hero gallery.
