INUTAN Limited has begun an open beta test for their 3D cozy action RPG, OverField, available on Android until October 27th. The game was previously published by NetEase Games in China and Japan, but support ended in February. Now, the development team, Ekoneko Studio, is handling operations.

OverField is a charming action RPG set in a fantastical 3D world where what’s real and what’s not is often blurred. You’ll play as a new Exploration Captain working for Rota Tech, a group that investigates the mysterious Open Space – a place where science and the supernatural meet.

This game features beautifully crafted, diorama-like worlds that feel like they’ve come to life from an animated movie. You can switch between the normal world and a charming alternate dimension. I’m really excited about finding rare collectibles, figuring out clever puzzles, and especially enjoying the cute, music-based combat.

Players can recruit quirky companions, relax, socialize, and more

Throughout your journey, you’ll encounter strange creatures and discover the mysteries behind the constantly shifting world around you. You can also gather a team of unique characters – like a tech expert who acts tough but is secretly sweet, or a forgetful scout – and I especially enjoyed building relationships with them.

What I really like is how much you can customize things. You can change the color of over 20 different parts of your outfit to create a completely unique style. Plus, you can build and decorate your own personal space – anything from a comfy cafe to a futuristic headquarters – with over 20 furniture styles to choose from. It’s also great that you can just relax, like lounging in a hammock, or participate in fun activities like barbecues and cosplay competitions.

The open beta for OverField is now live on Android and will run until October 27th. You can download and play the game directly from the Google Play Store – no pre-registration is required.
