“Outstanding” 8-part Sam Claflin period drama could be your perfect bank holiday watch

Looking for something to watch this Bank Holiday? The 8-part period drama The Count of Monte Cristo, starring Sam Claflin, is currently available to stream for free. This 2024 series, based on Alexandre Dumas’ classic 1846 novel, received excellent reviews when it was released.

Wrongfully convicted of treason and thrown in prison, Edmond Dantès (Sam Claflin) manages to escape and reinvents himself as a rich nobleman, dedicating his life to getting revenge on those who wronged him.

Alongside Dimitri Clafin, The Count of Monte Cristo features Mikkel Boe Følsgaard, Ana Girardot, Blake Ritson, Karla-Simone Spence, Lino Guanciale, Michele Riondino, and Jeremy Irons.

Although Alexandre Dumas’ story has been made into a movie or TV show many times, the 2024 version is being called the best adaptation yet by fans.
