As someone who has spent decades navigating the complex world of politics and education, I find myself deeply concerned about the current state of affairs in Australia. The ongoing debate between Labor and their critics like Leach, a director at the Menzies Research Centre, highlights the stark divide in our nation’s economic policies.

An outspoken political commentator had reasons to celebrate on Sunday.

21-year-old Freya Leach, recognized for her insightful perspectives, strolled up the aisle in a Sydney church this past weekend alongside her newly wedded husband, Cooper Gannon, who serves as the NSW Young Liberals secretary.

They gave a peek into their wedding through a collection of Instagram Story updates. Freya donned a dress without sleeves and boasted a lengthy train.

The ornate dress boasted a deep v-neck and pearls scattered all over, accompanied by a long, flowing veil.

Her dark brown hair cascaded in gentle waves, and she selected a cozy, sun-kissed makeup style, finishing off with a subtle shade of pale pink lipstick.

The bride held a bouquet filled with cream and pale orange blossoms, and accessorized elegantly with pearl earrings that swayed.

In a traditional style, Cooper donned a tuxedo paired with a white formal shirt and a bow tie. He accessorized by pinning flowers on his chest, which harmonized beautifully with the bouquet carried by his bride.

As a devoted admirer, I found myself joining the newlywed couple in an exhilarating dance spree on the bustling dance floor, followed by a lively celebration that stretched deep into the night with our cherished companions.

At the conclusion of their wedding ceremony, Cooper gracefully lowered his newlywed spouse for a brief instant before they sealed their love with a passionate kiss.

‘We got married!’ Freya wrote in one caption, before describing the day as ‘the most special’.

The wedding came just days after the young conservative activist said Australians are ‘literally poorer’ under Anthony Albanese.

Leach called Albanese the ‘worst PM of all time’ in a video posted to social media.

‘A genuine question. When will people realise that this Labor government under Anthony Albanese is terrible?’ she asked.

Friends, it seems our financial situation is becoming increasingly tight. Inflation has been spiraling out of control, causing businesses to hesitate with their investments and slowing down the creation of new job opportunities.

“To prove my claim, consider this fact: Among all developed nations, none has experienced a greater decrease in real disposable income than Australia.

As a lifestyle advisor, I’d like to share some insights: It’s not always coincidence when things happen. Just as it takes careful nurturing for a coconut to grow on a tree, our circumstances often reflect the choices we’ve made along the way. So, instead of viewing misfortune as an unexpected fall from a tree, let’s consider it a reminder to tend to the seeds we’ve sown in our lives.

Over the past two years, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) found that, when adjusted for inflation, average Australian household incomes, including taxes, dropped by 8%.

Albanese was confronted about the data on the ABC’s Insiders program on Sunday.

Host David Speers posed a question: “Why does disposable income seem to be higher in other nations like Canada and the OECD average compared to Australia?

As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but echo Senator Albanese’s insights. He’s spot on when he says that the critical factor behind why Australians find themselves in a tougher economic position compared to their counterparts in advanced economies is the timing of the inflation wave.

‘Inflation peaked higher and earlier overseas than it did [in Australia]. Interest rates were higher overseas, inflation was higher and it was earlier,’ he explained.

According to Albanese, the effects stemming from our position within the supply chain were experienced later on, which led to the persistence of inflation that initially had a six-digit figure when they took office, but now it’s reduced with only two digits and continues to decrease.

As the head of youth policy at the Menzies Research Centre and former leader of The University of Sydney Conservative Club, Leach contends that instead of being improved, Australians have actually been disadvantaged by Labor’s investments in social initiatives.

According to Leach, this current administration has added an additional $315 billion to their spending since the last election, a move that has contributed significantly to the rise in prices and inflation.

Leach disagreed with Labor’s plan to reinstate industry-wide collective bargaining, under which wage increases at a single workplace would be mirrored in other businesses within the same sector.

Under regulations known as ‘same jobs, same pay’, labor hire employees should be paid at the same hourly rate as their permanent counterparts when performing the same tasks.

“The labor laws in their industries are causing businesses to be hesitant about hiring new employees. The truth is, wages aren’t increasing, productivity is decreasing, and there are many other issues as well. She expressed her dissatisfaction by stating that this government is not good.

Last year, Liberal candidate Leach faced an unsuccessful campaign within the Green electoral district of Balmain, situated in the inner-city region of Sydney.

Previously, she gained attention in 2022 as news headlines swirled when Sydney University scrapped a legal exam following an angry law student’s allegation that her identity was intentionally misused to depict a fictitious HIV-positive murderer.

During her second year at the University of Sydney, Freya shared her surprise upon finding another woman named Freya with conservative views assigned to the same law project as herself.

The protagonist takes the life of another person, followed by having intimate relations while concealing her HIV diagnosis. In the end, she meets her own demise.

According to Leach, approximately twenty of her law school peers confided in her that they felt the character named Freya in the assignment was modeled after her.

Sydney University said it had withdrawn the paper to preserve ‘academic integrity’.

The university acknowledges that numerous students have invested a significant effort into the brief task, and they empathize with and grasp the feelings of annoyance that this may have caused. (The Australian)

Yet, it’s important to note that both the university and the law school greatly emphasize the importance of assessment integrity. This is vital not only for maintaining the credibility of our students’ qualifications but also for upholding the reputation of the legal profession and contributing positively to society.

Unfortunately, we believe that it is necessary to discontinue and replace the temporary evaluation method in order to uphold academic honesty.

Earlier, an official representative from the University of Sydney stated that the use of the name ‘Freya’ was entirely by chance.
