As a seasoned movie-goer and self-proclaimed Outlander enthusiast who has followed the gripping tale of Jamie and Claire since its inception, I must say that the anticipation for the second half of Season 7 has been positively palpable!
At last, Outlander has come back for the second part of its seventh season! You can catch the first episode immediately on the Starz app, and it will be broadcasted on Starz itself tonight.
In the upcoming episodes, Jamie and Claire Fraser (played by Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe) will return to Scotland, their original homeland. Although the production team has hinted at a future separation for the couple, it’s something they’ve experienced before. When asked about this challenging aspect of the new season by SheKnows, both actors expressed that the separation is the most emotionally taxing part. “There’s no good that comes when they are apart,” Balfe explained.
He is particularly thrilled for us to witness the concluding episodes of the new season, as he finds them among the most gripping and visually stunning parts. In his words, “There are some truly impactful events that unfold. I believe these episodes might be the most dramatic in the season,” he added. “I have a soft spot for the last two installments. They are exquisitely filmed…There’s an ethereal quality to them, a sense of tranquility…Without revealing too much, let me say that they are stunningly beautiful and intense.
Coincidentally, the title of season 7 finale is “A Hundred Thousand Angels,” a fitting choice given Heughan’s remark about it having a ‘heavenly feel.’ While we must wait until January to find out more details, Balfe shares our excitement, hinting that it will be something special. She described the location of the final sequence as “very beautiful” and “very special,” adding that some old characters make a return, making it even cooler.

Sam Heughan and Caitronia Balfe preview Outlander season 7, part 2…and beyond
Over the past seven seasons, Jamie and Claire have been the soul of the series “Outlander,” their love so profound it surpasses even the barriers of time. Viewers have come to cherish their relationship, as well as the connection between Heughan and Balfe. However, with the eighth and concluding season now filmed, fans will soon say goodbye to this beloved trio, making every moment left together precious.
“We’re going through this sort of trial separation right now,” Heughan joked. Balfe picked up that analogy and ran with it: “We’re consciously uncoupling,” she quipped.
Instead of asking whether they’re discussing Claire and Jamie splitting up or Caitriona and Sam, it seems more like she’s implying a confusion between reality and fiction since she’s played these characters for such a long time, causing the lines to become less distinct.
There are eight episodes in the back half of Outlander season 7. They’ll drop Fridays on Starz.
