Outlander star’s British shark thriller is now available to watch on Netflix
As a seasoned gamer and movie enthusiast who’s seen his fair share of survival thrillers, I can confidently say that “Something in the Water” is a must-watch for those who enjoy edge-of-your-seat suspense. The film offers an interesting twist on the traditional shark attack genre by focusing on a group of women, which adds a refreshing dynamic to the narrative.
British shark thriller Something in the Water is now available to watch on Netflix.
The movie features Lauren Lyle from Outlander, Hiftu Quasem known for Killing Eve, Natalie Mitson starring in The Larkins, Ellouise Shakespeare-Hart and Nicole Rieko Setsuko as a group of friends who come together at a wedding held in a scenic location.
The group of five ladies opt to hire a boat for a day trip near the shoreline, only to encounter trouble when they become stranded in the open sea. This situation quickly turns dire as they’re surrounded by relentless sharks, putting their lives at stake.
Today, November 29th, “Something in the Water” has made its way onto Netflix in both the United Kingdom and Ireland, having been previously screened in cinemas back in July.
After hitting the screens, the movie garnered both positive and negative responses, resulting in a 42% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, a site that compiles reviews. Currently, as I write this, the score has increased slightly to 50%, based on 22 new reviews.
Elsewhere, Lauren Lyle is next set to star in upcoming Netflix series Toxic Town opposite Doctor Who‘s Jodie Whittaker.
In simple terms, this four-part series will recount the actual events surrounding the 2009 Corby poisonings controversy, which gained widespread attention in the UK when significant quantities of harmful substances polluted inhabited zones, causing harm to the health of local inhabitants.
In the series, stars such as Robert Carlyle from “The Full Monty”, Aimee Lou Wood known for “Sex Education”, Rory Kinnear of “Our Flag Means Death”, and Brendan Coyle who is recognized for “Downton Abbey” are also featured.
Lyle will once again take on the main character in the Scottish detective series titled “Karen Pirie“, production for the second season started in June.
This coming season is centered around re-examining an old mystery from 1984 – the abduction of oil heiress Catriona Grant and her young son, at gunpoint, which remained unsolved until now.
If a person’s remains are found after forty years, accompanied by a crucial new bit of proof, Karen is tasked with discreetly re-investigating the case.
