Outlander season 7B releases dozens of new images, confirming the return of iconic characters
As a devoted Outlander fan, I must say that the new season 7B is shaping up to be quite the spectacle! With Claire’s medical work and the addition of Doctor Denzell Hunter, it seems that our favorite time-traveling duo has found themselves in some interesting company.
For quite some time, Outlander has been one of Starz’s leading series, and it’s currently experiencing a notable peak. Due to the pandemic, the sixth season of Outlander was limited to just eight episodes in 2022, which disappointed many fans. However, the show is compensating for this by delivering an extended seventh season with a total of 16 episodes. The first half of the season premiered last summer, and the second part is set to be released shortly, within a few months from now. By November, we’ll all return to Fraser’s Ridge!
Starz is gearing up to excite us greatly! They’ve unveiled more than two dozen new snapshots, showcasing characters such as time-traveling duo Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan), as well as their extended family members and even a few familiar faces from the past that might surprise you.
As a passionate fan, I’m diving into a sea of intriguing visuals, but let’s kick things off with the pair that has me buzzing the most. Now, while this might border on spoiler territory, if Starz is releasing these images officially, perhaps the level of surprise they hold isn’t as high as we might think? Take a look at them first, then let’s discuss!
Absolutely! You’re right about it being Graham McTavish as Dougal MacKenzie and Lotte Verbeek as Geillis making an appearance again. They last appeared in season 2 and 3, respectively, on “Outlander.” Time travel being a key element of the series, there’s always room for speculation about how they might reappear in season 7. Among all the tidbits we’ve gathered so far, this revelation has me particularly thrilled. Geillis and Dougal have left an indelible impact on “Outlander,” and I can hardly wait to see what their return could entail.
Next, let’s catch up with Claire:
And Jaime:
And some shots with Claire and Jamie together, as they should be:
Matters appear set to become increasingly intricate during the upcoming season. Previously, Claire and Jamie were on their way to return to Scotland. It’s worth noting that Jamie’s former spouse, Laoghaire (portrayed by Nell Hudson), resides there as well. From what we can see, she doesn’t seem overjoyed at his return.
Here are some additional photos showcasing Scotland! It appears that Jamie, Claire, and Young Ian (John Bell) have just arrived at Jamie’s ancestral home, Lallybrach.
Beyond the image you see, there are additional depictions of Young Ian too. I’d like to share another one that beautifully showcases how he blends his Scottish heritage and his experiences with the Mohawk in his attire: a striking portrait.
This coming season, it seems that Ian will be devoting extra hours with Rachel Hunter, or Izzy Meikle-Small as we know her. There’s a hint of something romantic in the air!
Back to Claire, who’s doing some medical work on a sickly patient:
At this stage in the series, there are other doctors besides Claire. Here, you see them engaging in conversation, specifically Claire and Doctor Denzell Hunter, who happens to be Rachel’s brother.
And here’s a solo shot of Denzell:
Next, let’s follow up with Claire and Jamie’s daughter Brianna, portrayed by Sophie Skelton, and her husband Roger, played by Richard Rankin. Notably intriguing are these images we have, including one depicting Richard in attire appropriate for the 18th Century.
BUT LO! Our next images have Roger and Brianna in 1980s clothing. Time travel!
Additionally, there are numerous photos showcasing Lord John Grey (played by David Berry) and his adopted son William (portrayed by Charles Vandevaart), who is Jamie’s biological child from his time at Ardsmuir Prison. Here, Lord John Grey engages in conversation with Claire:
And here he is with William:
Even though Jamie and Claire are aware that the American colonies will emerge victorious from the Revolutionary War, it’s William who stands as a British soldier on the battlefield. This undoubtedly sets the stage for considerable conflict in the remainder of season 7. Here he goes, readying his weapon to fire.
Beginning on November 22, Starz will start broadcasting the second half of Outlander season 7. New episodes become available every Friday at midnight Eastern Time on the Starz app. Following this, they are shown again linearly at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
