Oti Mabuse breaks down in tears as homesick star tells campmates she’s exhausted and ‘having a bit of a dip’ on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
As a seasoned I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! viewer, I have to say that the latest episode was a rollercoaster of emotions. The new money system introduced this year has added an exciting twist to the show, and watching the celebrities struggle to earn cash for their teams brought back memories of my own survival challenges in the wilderness (okay, maybe not quite as extreme).
Considering the victory at today’s trial earning dining privileges and no star for camp-cooking, the campers were contemplating what they needed to prepare for dinner on Thursday night.
However, it seems that the increased expenses related to the new camp have affected Oti Mabuse, aged 34, who shared with her fellow campers that she’s been feeling down and longing for her loved ones.
Sharing with her fellow campers that she feels their absence, the dancer expressed: ‘I believe I’ve finally realized how much I rely on my family’s support, and it seems so poignantly clear now.’
It seems like you’re currently without the usual resources that provide you comfort, be it spiritual, emotional, or physical.
What stood out to me was the combined emotional and practical assistance that made me think, “Wow, even without family here.
Afterward, the campers united to offer comfort to Oti. Tulisa reassured her by saying, “You have your jungle family right here.
Later on, a reflective Oti expressed in the Bush Telegraph, “I need to keep reminding myself what brought me here, I’ve got to keep going and find the strength within.
‘I’m here for my daughter and I have to be strong. It’s just exhausting sometimes to be strong.’
In another part of the program, Dean McCulloch, Alan Halsall, and Danny Jones found out that they had received the highest number of public votes, which meant they would compete against each other in the Bushtucker Challenge called ‘The Rank Bank.’
As a devoted admirer, I’m excited to share that Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly hinted at the possibility of the fellow contestants joining us as spectators.
There was a lot of speculation among the group about what this could possibly entail. Coleen Rooney had even ventured a guess: “It seems to me that we may be divided into teams, perhaps ‘Team Alan’, ‘Team Danny’ and ‘Team Dean’.
Indeed, her prediction was spot on. As soon as the celebrities stepped into the Bushtucker Trial zone, Ant and Dec clarified that jungle living was going to become quite costly.
In the course of their conversation, they mentioned that daily necessities at the campsite will require funds. To cover these expenses, you’ll need to utilize your Jungle Cash Card. Additionally, you’ll be divided into three groups.
Later on, it was made clear that Dean, Alan, and Danny would initially form part of their respective teams, with each person receiving a distinctly colored monetary card.
The remaining campers settled down on the benches, following which they were told to select a colored cash card at their discretion from a sack. The color of the card determined the team they belonged to.
In this setup, Dean, Jane, Colleen, and Melvin belong to the Pink Squad. On the other hand, we have Alan, Tulisa, Richard, and Barry forming the Blue Team. The Orange Team consists of Danny, Maura, Oti, and an additional Barry (to avoid confusion).
In their designated groups, they discovered that each member would handle the finances for their respective teams, as every group was given its own bank account and debit card.
The funds are required for covering the costs of daily necessities at the camp, along with purchasing dinner supplies.
Since they hadn’t spent the money yet, it fell upon Dean, Alan, and Danny to compete in the initial Trial. This was their chance to challenge The Rank Bank, an opportunity to accumulate funds for their respective teams.
Ant and Dec disclosed that they will participate in a total of four races, with the aim of winning money for their respective teams’ bank balances.
In the first position, contestants receive $300, while those in second get $200, and the third receives $100. Each competition has a time restriction of three minutes, so if participants don’t finish the race within this period, they will not receive any winnings for their account.
Discovering the initial safe housing uncooked pig’s testicles was the first task, Dean, Alan, and Danny found out that they needed to clear their safe before the deadline, under the condition that they could only use their mouths for this purpose.
In this contest, Danny and Alan were very closely matched, but Danny edged out Alan at the last moment to secure a victory worth $300 for Team Orange, while Alan earned $200 for Team Blue. Unfortunately, Dean failed to complete the task within the given time frame, resulting in him receiving no reward.
In the next challenge, Dean encountered his arch-enemy – fish innards. The task for the teams was to retrieve three coins from a container filled with fish innards, using only their mouths.
In the end, it was Alan who emerged victorious, while Danny and Dean were in a close competition for the runner-up position.
Dean placed second, earning $200, while Danny fell short of the time limit, receiving his third coin five seconds post the Klaxon’s sound, which resulted in a zero reward for him.
During the third competition, they were warned to carefully manage their funds since Ant and Dec announced that they would need to extract fish eye juice into a shot glass using just their mouth, aiming to fill it completely up to the red line.
Alan came first with $300, Danny second with $200 and Dean third with $100.
As Dean said of the fish guts: “It’s all in my veneers!”
In the last competition, Dean, Alan, and Danny were required to reach into a box teeming with small creatures to retrieve three coins as swiftly as they could.
Initially, Alan took the top spot, pocketing an additional $300. Dean followed closely behind, receiving $200 as his prize. Unfortunately, Danny didn’t manage to finish in time, leaving him empty-handed.
After finishing ‘The Rank Bank’ competition, Team Blue emerged as the champions, taking home $1100. Meanwhile, Teams Pink and Orange ended up in a tie, each winning $500 apiece.
