As a film enthusiast with a soft spot for captivating narratives and performances that leave a lasting impression, I’ve been eagerly waiting for the opportunity to immerse myself in “Anora”. Having followed its journey from Cannes Film Festival to the digital screens of US homes, I can confidently say that this movie has piqued my interest.
Oscar contender Anora has become available to watch at home for US fans.
As a gamer, I’d say: In this highly-praised film by Sean Baker, I found myself swept up in the story of a dancer, played by Mikey Madison, who unexpectedly falls for Vanya (Mark Eydelshteyn), the boy from a powerful Russian tycoon’s family.
American viewers now have the opportunity to purchase the digital version of Anora on Amazon Prime Video at a cost of $19.99. As for the UK, a release date has not been announced as of now; however, it is currently being screened in British movie theaters.

Earlier this year, the film earned the esteemed Palme d’Or award at the Cannes Film Festival and garnered immense praise from critics. It opened to an almost flawless rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Specific acclaim was directed towards Madison’s acting, as The New York Times labeled the movie as “this year’s breakthrough role,” whereas The Los Angeles Times also described it as an “outstanding debut performance.
[Mikey Madison] departs stage left as a leading star, according to Rolling Stone. However, it seems that you underestimate the depth of this hardworking character portrayer, because just when you think you’ve grasped all aspects of this working-class martyr, the actor surprises you by breaking your heart in pieces.

The Associated Press mentioned: “Anora combines and goes beyond typical tropes. It doesn’t strive to hide its exploitative nature; in fact, it could even be part of the appeal. And soon enough, you might find yourself wholly invested in this unique experience.
Meanwhile, during the award season, a likely contender for future Oscars, titled The Brutalist, has unveiled its very first trailer.
The movie traces the journey of László Tóth, a Holocaust survivor and architect (portrayed by Adrien Brody), as he moves to America and encounters an enticing proposition from a well-to-do entrepreneur named Harrison Lee Van Buren (played by Guy Pearce).
Right now, you can stream Anora on Amazon Prime Video in the United States. Unfortunately, a UK digital release date has not been announced yet.
