As a seasoned Marvel fan with over two decades of comic book adventures under my belt, I can confidently say that the Avengers have been the cornerstone of my cinematic universe. The way they brought together Earth’s Mightiest Heroes back in 2012 was nothing short of magical. Fast forward to Avengers: Endgame, and I still find myself awestruck by that epic battle.

Since the debut of The Avengers as a team in 2012, they have served as the bond that has strengthened the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Before this, the franchise was already thriving with individual films featuring Iron Man, Captain America, The Incredible Hulk, and Thor performing strongly at the box office. However, it wasn’t until The Avengers introduced those characters (alongside Hawkeye and Black Widow) that the MCU notched up its first of numerous billion-dollar hits.

In the fourth installment of the Avengers series, Avengers: Endgame, marked the conclusion of the Infinity Saga, wrapping up the Thanos storyline and offering fans an epic cinematic battle for the ages. The movie released in 2019 has had a lasting impact on the franchise, as it saw three of the original six Avengers (Iron Man, Black Widow, and Captain America) departing – Iron Man and Black Widow gave their lives to save others, while Captain America decided to retire to be with the one he loves. Now, only Hawkeye, Hulk, and Thor remain active, but they’ve had fewer significant roles since the Multiverse Saga started.

There’s talk that each of them will reappear in some form, although it could mark the end of the road for one within the series as well.
