It’s been nearly a year since BBC star and Strictly Come Dancing winner Ore Oduba revealed he was separating from his wife, Portia Jett, who is 35. They have two children together. The announcement marked the end of their nine-year marriage.
Following their separation, the 38-year-old has been embracing being single. Meanwhile, Portia manages the everyday responsibilities of caring for their children, Roman, who is seven, and Genie, who is four.
It appears that Portia, the daughter of Anti-Nowhere League lead singer Nick Culmer, is feeling better thanks to a new relationship.
Oh my gosh, she posted a picture! A picture with *him*! I’m losing it! It’s a photo of her with this amazing guy – he’s wearing a blue cap, and she says he’s completely changed her life. Seriously, ‘changed everything’?! I need to know everything! Who *is* this mystery man? I’m officially obsessed!
In the caption, she wrote: ‘You came along and changed everything. PS: Happy Birthday.’
Many friends quickly commented to congratulate Portia, and Strictly professional dancer Karen Hauer even left three red heart emojis.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been reading all your lovely messages, and they’re just *so* heartwarming! People are saying things like, ‘I am over the moon for you, you deserve every bit of happiness!’ and ‘If anyone deserves this happiness it’s you!’ It’s wonderful to see such positive support and joy being shared. Honestly, it really brightens my day to see such kind words!
Yes! Absolutely thrilled for you! If anyone deserves happiness, it’s definitely you! This really brightened my Sunday – I’m so happy for you! You’re amazing and deserve all the wonderful things life has to offer!
Oh, this is wonderful news! I’m so incredibly happy for you. This is really lovely – I had a feeling you’d met someone special.
Last month, the former TV researcher shared her feelings of sadness during her Instagram Live show, Pour it with Portia, where she talked about the difficulties of raising a child on her own.
Let me tell you, as someone who’s seen a lot, juggling everything life throws at you can be incredibly demanding. I’m talking about the everyday hustle – the daily grind – combined with the beautiful chaos of raising a family. It’s not just *doing* all the things, it’s really being present for your kids and everything else, and honestly, that’s one of the most stressful, yet rewarding, experiences there is. It’s a constant balancing act, and self-care is absolutely crucial!
Honestly, it’s like I’m drowning, just constantly struggling to keep my head above water. And sometimes… sometimes I just feel completely defeated, like I can’t even go on anymore. I’m just… done. It’s exhausting, you know? I feel so overwhelmed by everything.
While enjoying a bottle of prosecco, she admitted she’s attempting to reduce her alcohol consumption. She explained that she started drinking as a way to deal with a challenging time in her life.
‘I’ve been able to drink more alcohol lately. I can handle quite a bit now – three glasses barely make an impression,’ she admitted. ‘I used to drink excessively, but I’ve gotten past that difficult period now,’ she confessed.

Ore and Portia, parents to Roman, seven, and Genie, four, got married in 2015. They first met in 2010 while both were students at Loughborough university – five years before tying the knot.
Sharing the news, Ore stated: ‘Hello everyone. Portia and I are saddened to share that we went our separate ways earlier in the year. We are incredibly thankful for all the support and love you’ve shown us over the years.’
We appreciate you respecting our privacy during this challenging time. We won’t be sharing any further information. Please be kind to one another, always.
This happened after Ore became noticeably upset on Loose Women while recalling his sister, who sadly died by suicide earlier this year.
I was thrilled to be on ITV with Kaye Adams! It was such a fun experience chatting with the lovely panellists – Judi Love, Oti Mabuse, and Nadia Sawalha. We had a great time on the show!
Ore shared his excitement about playing the lead in Mel Brooks’ musical Young Frankenstein, currently being performed at the Hope Mill Theatre in Manchester.
The talk quickly shifted to his sister, Lola, who passed away in April, and Ore openly and emotionally shared how he’s still coping with his loss. He spoke with moving honesty about the grief he continues to experience.
He confessed to having been upset earlier that day, telling the audience: ‘I had another cry about my sister this morning.‘
When a photo of the brothers appeared on the television screen in the studio, Ore’s calm expression broke, and he appeared to be trying not to cry.
Kaye softly comforted him, saying: ‘It’s okay.’ He paused to compose himself, then responded calmly: ‘I know it is.’
Expanding on his thoughts, the presenter shared that he feels Lola has been trying to contact him since she died.
He explained that people who have experienced the loss of family have told him, ‘you just wait, you wait for the signs‘.

The other day, I was looking at my phone and saw my sister with my nieces and nephews. I immediately asked, ‘Where are you? Sis, I really need you here.’
He continued speaking with a slight smile, explaining that he soon after cut his finger while preparing dinner – an event he interpreted as a message from Lola.
Despite his grief, Ore said he feels determined to live a fuller, braver life in their honour.
He stated, ‘I now feel capable of living a life that will sustain me going forward. Sadly, my sister wasn’t able to find that for herself before she passed away.’
He intends to achieve this, in part, by participating in the London Marathon – a race he confessed used to really frighten him. He sees it as a personal challenge he’s now determined to overcome. More details about the event can be found here.
He explained that the idea of running the London Marathon, as a tribute to his sister, used to be his biggest fear. She had a real passion for running – it was something she found difficult at first, but eventually she became obsessed with it, he said.
Ore hasn’t chosen a specific charity yet, but he wants to make sure any money he donates goes to organizations that were important to Lola. He wants to honor her values with his giving.
He told the panel he hoped the money raised would go to ‘black people, queer people and women.’
Kaye said she was sorry for reminding Ore of difficult times, but Ore made it clear he’ll always continue to talk about his sister.
I’ll always talk about my sister, for as long as I live. I’m thankful I’m in a place where I can do that,” he said.
