As an utterly devoted admirer, I must admit, Oprah’s recent social media post left me momentarily taken aback! Her radiant glow and transformed appearance, part of her ongoing weight loss journey, are truly a testament to her inspiring determination.
On a Tuesday, the well-known TV figure, aged 71, used Instagram to post a self-portrait as part of her book club. In the process, she subtly revealed her slender new figure.
In this scene, she was depicted wearing a vibrant V-neck blouse matched with leather pants, while carrying a copy of Elizabeth Gilbert’s memoir titled “All the Way to the River.
Additionally, she decided to disable commenting on her posts due to a heated conversation among fans regarding her use of an unnamed weight loss drug.
Her post comes after she open up about her body transformation and unveiling the secrets to her dramatic weight loss.
The talk show host’s admission was heavily criticized at the time as she had previously slammed using GLP-1 drugs, type-2 diabetes medication that also aids in weight loss.

She dropped approximately 50 pounds with the help of the weight loss medication.
The statement, “Her admission faced criticism because she previously characterized doctor-prescribed medication as a ‘convenient alternative,’ and claimed not to have used it for weight loss, having struggled with repeated dieting for many years,” is a more natural and easy-to-read paraphrase of the original sentence.
By December 2023, the host, long plagued by speculations about her reliance on medical weight loss supplements for several years, ultimately admitted the truth when she felt tired of enduring public shaming.
She told People: ‘I now use it as I feel I need it, as a tool to manage not yo-yoing.
The actress expressed: ‘Discovering that a medically-backed solution exists for weight management and maintaining good health throughout my life feels liberating, as if I’ve been granted absolution, a blessing – not another source of shame and mockery.’
She expressed that she’s tired of feeling judged by others, especially herself, regarding the criticism. Previously, she had even suggested a weight loss supplement to others, but only later chose to use it herself.
In simpler terms, back when he was a television host, he was a strong advocate for WeightWatchers. He publicly endorsed the company in 2015 and disclosed that he owned a 10% share in it.
In addition, she credited a 26-pound portion of her weight loss to a diet program that awards points, yet approximately a decade later, she resigned from the WeightWatchers board once it was disclosed that she had been utilizing a medically recommended GLP-1 drug.
She stated that their points-based diet plan was responsible for 26 pounds of her weight loss, but she eventually left the WeightWatchers board after admitting to using GLP-1 medication, which was prescribed by a doctor.
In 2021, she had a knee surgery which marked the start of her health journey. She then embarked on hiking and set herself new distance targets every week.

She had been yo-yo dieting and decided to change her approach in July 2023.
During the presentation of a pre-recorded discussion featuring health professionals discussing obesity and weight management for Oprah Daily’s program, The Life You Want, Oprah shared insights into her personal weight loss experience.
She shared with the crowd, “Many of you are aware that my weight loss journey has spanned most of my life. At one point, I reached a peak weight of 237 pounds. I’m not sure if there’s another well-known individual whose weight struggles have been so frequently highlighted as mine throughout the years.
Later, she shared with People magazine that the panel had provided her with the confidence to commence using weight loss medication, which had initially caused her hesitation.
She confessed to the media that, over the years, she had mistakenly believed it was her fault for being overweight.
‘And I have a predisposition that no amount of willpower is going to control,’ she said.
By taking the medicine prescribed by her doctor, she mentioned that she can now control her changes in weight.
‘I now use it as I feel I need it — as a tool to avoid yo-yoing,’ she explained.
