Oprah & Whoopi’s Oscars Slimdown: ‘Ozempic Ambassadors’ Stun with Weight Loss Transformation

Onlookers were astounded as Oprah Winfrey and Whoopi Goldberg appeared noticeably slimmer than before at the Oscars ceremony on Sunday.

Seven-decade-old media tycoon and actor from “Ghost,” both known for their past use of weight loss medications, recently appeared together on stage once more, 40 years since they last worked together in the production of “The Color Purple.

As a devoted admirer, I paid tribute to Quincy Jones, who recently passed away in November at the ripe age of 91. In his lifetime, he was instrumental in producing The Color Purple and composing its movie score.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the film adaptation of Alice Walker’s novel was a stunning contender at the 1986 Academy Awards, receiving no less than 11 nominations!

Oprah dazzled in a sleek black blazer paired with a radiant black maxi skirt and tie, while Whoopi captivated in a stunning metallic blue evening dress.

After seeing them, one fan expressed on social media that they seemed like a living advertisement for Ozempic.

‘The ozempic did wonders for Whoopi Goldberg and Oprah,’ someone else added.

Whoopi previously revealed she used weight loss medication Mounjaro after hitting 300 Lbs.

Currently, Oprah has disclosed that using medications designed for weight loss, such as Ozempic and Wegovy, have given her insights into the reality behind individuals who appear thin.

Back in 2023, Oprah publicly acknowledged her usage of a specific, unmentioned drug called GLP-1, which is used for treating type 2 diabetes and can help with weight loss as well. After years of battling with weight fluctuations due to various diets, she managed to lose approximately 50 pounds using this medication.

Fans were taken aback when Oprah admitted that she had used medication for weight loss, contrary to her earlier claims of avoiding such methods. She had previously criticized this approach as a simple solution or shortcut.

However, almost achieving her target weight of 160 lbs, Winfrey recently disclosed her insights on ‘thin individuals’ following her use of a GLP-1 medication.

In her podcast, Oprah admitted that when she first tried GLP-1, it struck her that for all these years, she assumed thin people possessed greater self-control. She believed they consumed healthier foods, adhered to their diets more diligently, and never gave in to snacking on potato chips.

However, after she began using GLP-1, Oprah discovered that the self-control she thought she possessed was actually a lack of bothersome hunger sensations, a phenomenon frequently described as “food noise.

GLP-1 drugs like Ozempic, Wegovy, and others can aid in managing persistent hunger sensations that might lead to excessive eating and weight increase, as they lower cravings and delay the process of digestion.

Then he understood for the first time, when he was using the GLP-1, that they don’t seem to be considering it at all, the billionaire explained.

‘They’re eating when they’re hungry and they’re stopping when they’re full.’

As a dedicated follower, I’ve come to realize that the suggested eating method doesn’t seem to yield the desired results for those battling obesity – a condition I view as a health challenge rather than a mere problem.

In January of this year, Whoopi underwent a transformation that she showcased during Paris Fashion Week. This change was the result of using weight loss medication to help shed approximately 300 pounds.

In March of last year, during an appearance on The View, she openly disclosed that she had been using the weight-loss medication called Mounjaro to aid in her weight reduction process.

She additionally voiced her thoughts on the prejudice surrounding weight loss medications, emphasizing that “the secret lies in not passing judgment on everyone.

I find that my weight fluctuates frequently, rising and falling, yet I’ve always felt unfazed by these changes because I ignore societal opinions about me, thereby avoiding any potential issues or problems.

Whoopi commented, ‘I believe it’s quite challenging for individuals to determine what a typical weight should be…People seem to have opinions, yet none have asked, “How are you feeling?” as it encompasses various aspects of one’s wellbeing.’

The star continued, “I’ve always felt like myself, but when I looked at myself, it was like seeing an amplified version of myself. It’s crucial to accept accountability for one’s own self and observe the condition of one’s body.

At some stage, Goldberg spoke about her 2022 movie ‘Till’ and shared, ‘Let me tell you this, I was close to 300 pounds when I filmed Till.’

During an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show in May 2024, the actress mentioned that while shooting the historical drama, someone else believed she was wearing a weight suit.

While onstage on Sunday, the two delivered a touching message in honor of Jones.

When you hear the name Quincy Jones, it immediately brings up thoughts of a musical genius, and indeed, that’s an accurate assessment, according to Oprah.

Known as ‘Q’, he garnered 28 Grammy Awards, served as an arranger and conductor for musical legends such as Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and Ray Charles. Beyond his influence in music, he was instrumental in the creation of “We Are The World.” Yet, outside of the realm of music, ‘Q’ also left a profound mark on the world of film, excelling as a composer and producer.

In Goldberg’s words, when we discuss Black excellence, Quincy is a prime example. Back in 1967, Quincy Jones made history as the first African American composer to be nominated in the Original Song category for “The Eyes of Love” in the film Banning. It’s important to remember that this was the very first time such an honor was bestowed upon a Black composer.

That same year, I too was recognized with a nomination for my original music score in the film ‘In Cold Blood’. I had the immense privilege of receiving seven Oscar nominations, not just once, but across four extraordinary films: ‘The Wiz’, ‘In Cold Blood’, ‘For Love Of Ivy’, and the unforgettable ‘The Color Purple’. As fate would have it, I shared this remarkable journey with Oprah.

Oprah stated that we are remembering Q tonight because of the significant impact he had on our film industry, which is why we are all paying tribute to him.

In my experience, encountering Quincy felt like embracing love in its most vibrant and tangible form – a true embodiment of compassion. His generosity, pouring love into those around him and his craft, left an indelible mark on me. Our paths crossing forever transformed my life for the better.

She also added that Jones ‘discovered me for The Color Purple, which was my first film.’

Goldberg also agreed, and later on, he paid tribute to the genuine American icon whose songs and films still motivate us today. He then invited Queen Latifah for a performance.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d like to share an interesting tidbit about the iconic film, The Color Purple. In 1986, Whoopi Goldberg, portraying Celie Harris, earned a Best Actress nomination, while Oprah Winfrey, who brought Sofia to life on screen, was recognized with a Best Supporting Actress nod.

In recognition, Jones was nominated for two awards: Best Original Score and Best Original Song, both for the film titled ‘Miss Celie’s Blues (Sister)’.

In simpler terms, “The Color Purple” delves into the story of Celie, a young black girl residing in the deep south of America during the early 1900s.
