As a dedicated follower of the arts and entertainment industry, I have had the pleasure of witnessing the transformation and growth of numerous talents over the years. Among these rising stars, Emma Dumont has undeniably left an indelible mark with her versatile acting skills and impressive range.
Actress Emma Dumont, known for her role as ‘Oppenheimer’ in a popular series, has publicly identified as trans masculine and non-binary, and shared the name they prefer to be called by within their family circle.
30-year-old star announced on their Instagram that they have switched from using ‘she/her’ pronouns to ‘they/them’ pronouns.
According to a statement made by a representative, Dumont, who has acted alongside Rumer Willis in a romantic role, identifies as a trans masculine, non-binary individual.
In my commitment to sharing information accurately, let me clarify that Dumont prefers to maintain their professional identity using their current name. However, when it comes to their personal sphere, they have chosen to adopt a masculine name instead.
As a die-hard admirer, let me share this delightful tidbit: While professionally known as Emma Dumont, this extraordinary individual prefers the moniker Nick among their closest companions and loved ones.
The star also updated their bio with the new name, adding ‘Nick Dumont’ to their profile.

Regarding the latest social media posts, it’s worth noting that Dumont (formerly known as Emma Noelle Roberts) hasn’t explicitly confirmed or discussed their coming out in public yet.
The star’s latest Instagram posts signal a significant shift from their glamorous red carpet image.
In May, Dumont unveiled a daring, cropped, textured hairstyle, marking a change from their traditional long, sleek tresses.
‘Nice, new era,’ a fan commented on the change at the time.
In their latest Tuesday post, Dumont adopts a relaxed look with t-shirts and sunglasses on.
Last year, Dumont achieved global acclaim for their role in the Academy Award-winning film Oppenheimer, which featured a stellar cast including Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon, and Florence Pugh.
The Christopher Nolan movie tells the story of Robert Oppenheimer, a renowned theoretical physicist often referred to as the “father of the atom bomb.
Dumont starred as Oppenheimer’s sister-in-law Jackie.

The movie garnered multiple Academy Awards, among them were the categories of Best Picture and Best Actor, which went to Cillian Murphy from Peaky Blinders, for his outstanding performance as Oppenheimer.
Besides being recognized for their work, Dumont is equally famous for their part in the Fox television series, “The Gifted.” This captivating drama chronicles the life of an ordinary suburban family, whose offspring unveil latent mutant abilities.
In a different X-Men universe, the series is centered around Dumont portraying Polaris, the daughter of Magneto. She grapples with the challenges posed by bipolar disorder.
The Gifted premiered in 2017, but was cancelled after its second season in 2019.
In the upcoming horror movie “New Me,” actress Dumont will portray the character Andriana. The storyline revolves around a young mother who delves into her past suppressed traumas in an attempt to bond emotionally with her child and spouse, yet faces a significant cost for doing so.
There is no release date for the film yet.
In addition to their other acting roles, Dumont was part of the cast for the NBC drama Aquarius set in the ’60s, playing Emma Karn – a fervent devotee of Charles Manson.
They also starred in ABC Family’s dance series Bunheads as Melanie.
They have also been featured in projects such as What Lies Ahead, a movie with Bruce Willis’ daughter Rumer; Mind Games on ABC; T@gged produced by AwesomenessTV; Freeform’s Pretty Little Liars and The Fosters; and SYFY’s The Magicians.

Born in Seattle, Dumont’s early passions included ballet, violin, and modeling.
Acting held the deepest enthusiasm for them, resulting in roles in independent movies as well as television shows during their teenage years.
Apart from his work in acting and art, Dumont holds a strong interest in mechanical engineering and computer programming as well.
A Mensa member and former participant in FIRST Robotics, they continue to mentor young people in the program.
