Ophelia Lovibond is pregnant! Actress reveals she’s expecting her first child with husband Henry Pettigrew and shares sweet bump photo
Actress Ophelia Lovibond recently shared the exciting news that she and her husband, fellow actor Henry Pettigrew, are expecting their first child together. They initially crossed paths when they portrayed on-screen lovers during a stage production.
On Instagram, on a Monday, the 39-year-old actress, famed for her work in Guardians of the Galaxy and BBC’s W1A, shared delightful news about an upcoming addition to her family. Accompanying her post was a black-and-white photo that showed her growing baby bump.
In this photograph, Ophelia gently holds her stomach while strolling along a sandy shore barefoot, wearing just a bikini and an open shirt, all the while sporting a bright smile under a large pair of sunglasses.
She announced with excitement, using the hashtags #thrilledbeyondwords, #arrivingsoon, and #tinysweetheart, while mentioning her spouse, as she shared that a new member is joining our family soon.
The announcement sparked a flood of warm congratulations from admirers and acquaintances. Singer Pixie Lott replied with “congratulations!” while Sophie Ellis-Bextor exclaimed, “Woo! Congratulations! Happy news!” followed by several kisses.
TV presenter Laura Whitmore added: ‘Congrats lovely. The best x.’

In the year 2015, Ophelia crossed paths with Henry, an actor portraying real-life moon-landing astronaut Neil Armstrong in The Crown, during their assignment as romantic leads in Lucy Prebble’s play titled “The Effect.
In that period, Tom Hughes, an actor, was romantically involved with Ophelia. Later on, following their portrayal as husband and wife in ITV’s Victoria, he developed a relationship with Jenna Coleman.
Reflecting on the performance, I must say it was powerfully moving – the characters in the play found themselves entangled in a deep, undeniable love affair. Now, looking back, it’s as if we were all privy to their secret, a shared understanding that transcended the stage.
In the year 2021, she became engaged to Henry, and the next year, they tied the knot at London’s ancient Wilton’s Music Hall.
Ophelia referred to the occasion as her ‘perfect wedding,’ posting numerous pictures from the day on Instagram.
In a stunning white satin dress designed by Halfpenny London, featuring an impressive large bow, she captivated the room. Meanwhile, Henry was sharp and elegant in a navy suede jacket adorned with a bow tie.

She expressed that her perfect wedding, the ideal groom, the desired gown, the dreamy floral arrangements, delectable cuisine, enchanting music, and cherished guests, along with the whole day itself, were nothing short of extraordinary. She’s still in awe over how incredibly unique and memorable the occasion was…
Her new husband echoed the sentiment, posting: ‘I married my best friend.’
The duo was entertained by a gospel ensemble singing Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered,” and they made their vows amidst wildflowers and shimmering fairy lights.
In the past few years, Ophelia’s acting career has been thriving significantly. She not only took on a leading role in the feminist comedy titled Minx, but also portrayed Carrie Johnson, wife of the former Prime Minister Boris Johnson, in Sky’s series This Sceptred Isle, which depicts the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic.
She also appeared as Carina in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and Thor: The Dark World.
Henry, meanwhile, has continued to work across television, film and theatre.
