Only Murders in the Building isn't new tonight, Nov. 5 (and no, it’s not because of the Election)

As a dedicated fan of Only Murders in the Building, I must confess that Tuesday evenings have become a bit gloomy since the season 4 finale graced our screens last week. The anticipation and excitement that once filled my heart every time a new episode was about to drop are now replaced by a sense of longing.

It’s Tuesday, but you won’t find a fresh episode of “Only Murders in the Building” on Hulu tonight.

Regrettably, we can’t watch another hilarious episode from Hulu’s Emmy-winning comedy tonight, as the series has ended for this season. In fact, last week’s installment was the season finale, wrapping up season 4.

After wrapping up its fourth season last week with episode 10, there won’t be any fresh episodes airing tonight. Contrary to what might seem plausible due to the election causing many other shows to be postponed, this isn’t the reason for the absence of new episodes. Instead, the truth is that season 4 has come to an end. Although some streaming originals on Hulu have had longer season runs, all seasons of “Only Murders in the Building” have comprised ten episodes, and season 4 followed this pattern as well. So while it’s tempting to speculate that the show is taking a break due to the election – which has led many shows, particularly on broadcast, to be rescheduled – the reality is that season 4 has concluded, and we’ll have to hold off until new episodes start appearing again on Hulu.

The good news is that there is more Only Murders in the Building on the way!

Before the October 29 finale of season 4, Hulu confirmed that “Only Murders in the Building” will continue for a fifth season. Although we don’t have an exact date, considering it has consistently released a new season annually since its debut in 2021, we anticipate season 5 to premiere around 2025.

In Season 5, Charles, Oliver, and Mabel are set to return, resuming their investigations as they tackle a new murder within the Arconia. Additionally, hints suggest that the team might venture into an independent investigation in Season 5, connected to the disappearance of a notable figure who has ties to the building.

Excitedly speaking as a fan, I’m thrilled to share that while we wait for Season 5, we can immerse ourselves in the past seasons by streaming them on Hulu! And if you’re lucky enough to have the Disney+ and Hulu bundle, you can catch all episodes on Disney+ too. Happy viewing, fellow fans!
