As a lifestyle expert and someone who has spent countless hours immersed in the world of television and entertainment, I find it deeply saddening to hear about the untimely passing of Paul Teal at just 35 years old. Having followed his career since his days on One Tree Hill, I can attest to the fact that he was not only a talented actor but also a genuinely kind and humble individual who brought warmth and positivity to every set he graced.

One Tree Hill actor Paul Teal has died aged 35.

Actor Teal, known for portraying Josh on the WB series in 2009’s season seven, passed away on November 15 following a long illness. His partner, Emilia Torello, announced this through a post on Instagram.

On Friday, November 15, 2024, a remarkably considerate, motivational, ambitious, self-controlled, caring gentleman sadly left us.

Paul, you were more than just a partner to me; you were my soul mate, the man I was about to marry, my steadfast support, and the future I looked forward to. You brought joy to my life with your laughter, excitement with your butterflies in my stomach, and love that filled my heart. Unfortunately, you were taken from us prematurely, fighting a battle with courage and determination.

Though a piece of my heart seems lost with you, I vow to strive for happiness just as relentlessly as you did for life each day.

‘It’s fortunate that we had any time at all with Paul Teal, but I consider myself incredibly fortunate as I was able to claim him as mine. My affection for you is everlasting.’

I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of my esteemed colleague, Bethany Joy Lenz, who brought Haley James Scott to life on our beloved show. On November 17, she expressed her feelings in a heartfelt tribute, sharing that she is ‘gutted’ by this loss.

As a lifestyle aficionado, I find myself deeply saddened by the loss of Paul Teal. This man had an extraordinary knack for illuminating any space he entered effortlessly. With his radiant grin, contagious chuckle, and compassionate spirit, he was irresistible to be around. Indeed, he left a lasting imprint on everyone fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.

For approximately six months, I collaborated intimately with Paul as he portrayed the character Noah in our musical adaptation of The Notebook, directed by Ronnie Gialloro in 2006. His shyness and humor were captivating, and his stage presence felt effortless – as if he had been born for it. Remarkably, one could hardly look away from him during the performance.

Later on, I felt thrilled to take charge of an episode of One Tree Hill that allowed me to introduce a new recurring character, Josh – the charming yet sleazy movie star. Given his humble wit and readiness to immerse himself completely into any role, Paul proved an excellent fit for the part. He was delightful to collaborate with in all settings and incredibly generous too.

Occasionally, we managed to keep each other updated. I often find myself yearning for more. There were so many instances when I intended to reach out, only to be sidetracked. It seems life passes by swiftly, and this truth has been on my mind quite a bit lately.

Here’s a link to a video featuring some of the images I’ve stored on my hard drive, depicting Paul as the renowned Noah Calhoun in our small-scale production called “the little black box.” The song accompanying this clip is ‘Sunday Train’, a solo number that Paul performed exceptionally well during our recording session that same year.

‘Now at 35, he’s taken another train. He was too young to die. Far too young. I’m gutted.

‘Paul, your time here was like a summer romance for all of us who knew you, especially if only for a season. Bursting, exciting, deeply moving, and unforgettable.

@nicholassparks wrote this in The Notebook novel:

Summer flings conclude due to various factors. Ultimately, they share a similar characteristic – they’re like fleeting shooting stars. A brilliant burst of light in the sky. A momentary peek at the infinite. And just as quickly, they vanish.

‘I’ll miss you, Paul. Thank you for sharing your light with us. @paulteal.’
