Australian period drama The Narrow Road to the Deep North has proven popular among UK viewers.
According to Richard Flanagan’s novel, the series narrates the story of Dorrigo Evans, a soldier who feels deeply guilty following an extramarital relationship with his uncle’s spouse.
The narrative delves into pivotal phases of Dorrigo’s life, such as his service in World War II, his imprisonment as a war captive, and the lasting impact of his harrowing ordeals.
Initially available on Prime Video in both Australia and the U.S., the five-part series eventually found its way to British airwaves. On July 20th, it was broadcasted on BBC One, while the entire series was simultaneously made available for streaming on BBC iPlayer.
Despite launching just five days ago, “The Narrow Road to the Deep North” is rapidly climbing the charts and currently ranks as the fifth most-watched series on the streaming platform at present.

In the main part, Saltburn’s Jacob Elordi is cast, while Kin’s Ciaran Hinds takes on an elder portrayal of the same character.
