Sean “Diddy” Combs has started his prison sentence and is now at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey. Since being moved from the Metropolitan Detention Center, stories have emerged about his life inside. Reports say he’s staying occupied with various activities, and he’s recently been given a job within the prison. Interestingly, this new job means Diddy now shares something in common with Todd Chrisley.
What New Job Is Diddy Now Holding Down In Prison?
News outlets recently reported that Diddy was assigned to do laundry at Fort Dix, a common task for inmates. Now, it appears he’s using his time to help in the prison chapel. His spokesperson, Juda Engelmayer, told CBS News that Diddy is now working as an assistant to the chaplain. Engelmayer also shared Diddy’s thoughts on his new role.
He works in the chapel library and finds the atmosphere welcoming, respectful, and fulfilling.
CBS News interviewed a former prison commissioner who explained what someone in Sean Combs’ position as a chaplain’s assistant usually does. Generally, this involves keeping the prison library organized, clean, and managing its records. A long-time corrections officer also noted that the library is a rare place where inmates can freely gather. Those who work in the library also enjoy benefits like air conditioning and meals during religious events.
From what we know, this job offers Diddy a chance to establish some stability, especially since imprisoned record producer Suge Knight urged him to stay out of trouble while incarcerated. It’s worth noting that Diddy isn’t the first well-known person to work in a prison chapel during their sentence; reality TV star Todd Chrisley did the same thing.
How Was Todd Chrisley’s Stint Working In A Prison Chapel?
Todd Chrisley, age 56, and his wife, Julie, were convicted of financial crimes, including bank fraud and tax evasion, in 2022. They both began serving their sentences in early 2023, with Todd sent to a federal prison camp in Florida where he was ordered to serve seven years. In 2024, reports surfaced that Todd started working in the prison chapel, but he was later let go from the position, which sources said left him feeling disappointed and upset.

How Diddy Just Landed A Legal Win Following His Prison Transfer
Following their pardon by President Trump in May, Todd Chrisley explained what his days in prison were like. He jokingly said he didn’t do any manual labor, but confirmed he did work at the prison chapel. He even responded to a social media user who claimed he didn’t have a job related to the chaplain, telling them not to misrepresent those who help others.
Sean Combs has a busy schedule ahead of him in prison, going beyond typical tasks like working in the chapel and doing laundry. While there were reports he had alcohol in prison, he’s now participating in a 9-12 month drug treatment program that could reduce his four-year sentence. It’s still unclear how successful he’ll be in the program, just like it remains to be seen if he’ll adjust to his role in the chapel as smoothly as Todd Chrisley did.
