One Piece season 2 casts Magic Mike star as major villain
As a lifelong fan of both One Piece and Joe Manganiello’s acting prowess, I can’t help but feel like this is the perfect storm of awesomeness! Mr 0 is one of the most intriguing antagonists in the series, and to have an actor with Manganiello’s talent bringing him to life on screen is nothing short of exhilarating.
One Piece has announced that Magic Mike star Joe Manganiello is joining the cast for season two.
In the upcoming second season of the live-action adaption, the role of the significant villain Mr. 0 from the original manga has been assigned to the actor.
During Netflix’s Geeked Week Live event on Thursday, September 19th, it was announced that Joseph Manganiello would be taking on the role of a villain. His enthusiasm for this new character was evident as he stepped onto the stage and shared his excitement.
In his words, “It’s an honor to handle one of the most iconic characters from manga and fantasy… A character like this is what I’ve longed to work on throughout my career.
It was also confirmed that Lera Abova is joining the cast of season two as Miss All Sunday, otherwise known as ‘Devil Child’.
Together, Mr 0 and Miss All Sunday make up Baroque Works’ most dangerous duo.
The announcement follows the confirmation that “Bridgerton” actress Charithra Chandran is set to appear in the Netflix show, portraying Miss Wednesday, or Vivi, as her character name.
Hello everyone! I’m thrilled beyond words to become a part of the cast in ‘One Piece’, and I can’t help but feel deeply appreciative towards Oda Sensei for giving me the opportunity to portray Vivi. This was shared during our conversation last month.
I fully understand the significance she holds for each of you, and I’ll strive tirelessly to honor her memory and make everyone proud. Looking forward to seeing you soon!
Joining the cast are Katey Sagal, known for her work in “Sons of Anarchy,” who is set to portray Dr. Kureha, and Mark Harelik from “The Morning Show,” who will embody Dr. Hiriluk.
The filming for the second season of “One Piece” commenced officially in South Africa during the month of July. Netflix announced this exciting news by releasing a sneak peek video showing the production process.
You can currently stream One Piece’s first season on Netflix, and it’s expected that the second season will be released there in 2025.
