One Piece return date confirmed after long hiatus
The One Piece anime has confirmed when it will return to Crunchyroll for new 2025 episodes.
The popular pirate series temporarily stopped airing in October, during the middle of the Egghead storyline, specifically with episode 34 from season 21 (or episode 1,122 in total).
It has been officially announced that “One Piece” is set to return on both the 5th and 6th of April worldwide, with simultaneous broadcasts taking place across different regions such as the United States, Australia, South America, and Japan. In the United Kingdom, fans can look forward to its return on the 6th of April.

In addition to two fresh episodes, there will also be a special catch-up episode, designed to bring fans up-to-date about the events that have unfolded during the Egghead storyline thus far.
Following this unique weekend, fresh “One Piece” installments will carry on airing every Sunday evening in Japan, with Crunchyroll streaming them promptly afterwards.
For the moment, the upcoming episodes will air in Japanese with subtitles. However, don’t worry if you prefer English, as the dubbed version isn’t far off. As of March 18, it has synchronized with Japan, making the latest specials and episodes 1,109-1,122 available on Crunchyroll in various regions.
It’s been found that in the UK, the English dub version of a show can only be streamed on BBC iPlayer, and currently, episode 1,088 is the latest one available there. We at Digital Spy have contacted the BBC to ask when their streaming service will match up with Crunchyroll’s content.
Moving forward, there’s an upcoming Netflix-exclusive series titled “The One Piece” that will reimagine the original episodes from the anime. This is distinct from the recent remaster or edit of season 15 that was aired during a break in broadcast.
On the live-action front, the second season has already been shot, whereas showrunner Matt Owens declared this week that he will not be involved in seasons 3 and beyond.
In the UK, One Piece can be streamed in its original Japanese language on Crunchyroll. Meanwhile, English versions are available on BBC iPlayer. For viewers in the U.S. and other regions, you can find both Japanese and English streams on Crunchyroll. Notably, new Japanese episodes will debut during the weekend of April 5 and 6.
