One Piece Netflix Show Casts Live-Action Bon Clay for Season 3

I’m still eagerly awaiting Season 2 of One Piece, but I just heard some awesome news – they’re already working on Season 3 of the live-action show! It feels like it’ll be a while before we get new episodes, but knowing Season 3 is in the works is really exciting.

In 2023, Netflix released a live-action version of the popular manga and anime series, One Piece. The show was created by Matt Owens and Steven Maeda and features Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, alongside Emily Rudd as Nami, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji, among others.

The second season of One Piece, called One Piece: Into the Grand Line, is coming out next year. It’s already been confirmed there will be a third season, announced last August, but we don’t have a release date for that one yet.

Who has joined the cast of One Piece Season 3?

Deadline reports that Cole Escola will join the cast of One Piece Season 3, playing the roles of Bon Clay, Bentham, and Mr. 2 Bon Kurei.

Bon Clay is a captivating and highly skilled fighter, described as both beautiful and deadly. This new character, who identifies as non-binary, will be a major addition to Season 3 of One Piece, set to resume filming in Cape Town, South Africa, later this year. Originally introduced as an enemy in the original manga, Bon Clay, known for their graceful, ballet-inspired style and swan-like appearance, eventually becomes an ally to Luffy and his crew.

Escola received a Tony Award for their outstanding performance in the play Oh, Mary! They’ve also appeared in several popular TV shows, including Nurse Jackie, Difficult People, Mozart in the Jungle, Girlboss, Man Seeking Woman, At Home with Amy Sedaris, Search Party, and The Girls on the Bus.

One Piece: Into the Grand Lane will premiere on Netflix on March 10, 2026.
