As a dedicated follower of pop culture and music, I have to admit that I was taken aback by the transformation of Bad Bunny during his recent sighting in New York City. Known for his vibrant, colorful outfits and infectious beats, seeing him with red hair and a grungy look was quite a surprise!
This week, I couldn’t believe my eyes when I caught a glimpse of one of my absolute favorite global artists transforming into an entirely new character for his upcoming movie!
On Wednesday, the rapper/singer, aged 30, made an appearance with his usual dark brown hair and beard now vividly colored in red.
The three-time Grammy Award-winner also had fake blood oozing from a ‘scrape’ on his left temple — a far cry from his typically polished appearance.
He’s had successful collaborations with Jennifer Lopez and Enrique Iglesias, but more recently, his position as the most-streamed artist has been taken over by Taylor Swift.
He’s been in an on/off romance with one of the world’s top models and he wrapped a $208million world tour this summer.
Despite being primarily recognized for his musical talents, he has demonstrated his abilities as an actor in not one but two major movies that featured Brad Pitt and Vin Diesel.

The mystery star is Puerto Rican musician Bad Bunny!
On the day of shooting in New York City, he underwent a remarkable transformation for Darren Aronofsky’s crime thriller, “Caught Stealing.
In addition to the main cast, the movie boasts talents like Austin Butler, Regina King, Liev Schreiber, Vincent D’Onofrio, Matt Smith, and Zoe Kravitz.
Accompanied by his fiery red hair and beard, Bad Bunny (whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio) moved about the set casually dressed in a gray hoodie, sweatpants, and a black t-shirt.
He completed his low-key outfit with Adidas sneakers and a red baseball cap that he carried in one hand.
Bad Bunny was led around the closed set by his security team.
Alongside him on set was fellow actor Butler, sporting a black baseball cap, a black hoodie, and tracksuit pants.
Deadline confirmed in August that Bad Bunny had been cast in Caught Stealing.
The movie is based on the 2004 novel with the same title, written by author Charlie Huston, who also wrote the script for it.
According to Deadline, the movie “Caught Stealing” centers around Hank Thompson (portrayed by Butler), a once-promising baseball player who is now jaded. He finds himself unknowingly thrust into a thrilling struggle for survival amidst the criminal underbelly of 90’s New York City downtown.
Details of Bad Bunny’s role in the film have yet to be disclosed.
In another role, this performer is not a newcomer to acting, having already appeared in brief parts in films like Bullet Train (2022) and F9: The Fast Saga (2021).
He also showed off his comedic prowess while hosting Saturday Night Live last October.
The shoot comes three months after the conclusion of his 48-date Most Wanted Tour, which kicked off in February in support of his latest album, Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana.
On Wednesday, a spotting of Bad Bunny in New York City transpired concurrently with news that his intermittent love interest, Kendall Jenner (age 28), has been seen associating with her former basketball player boyfriend, Devin Booker.
In the summer of 2023, Kendall renewed her relationship with Bad Bunny, having dated him from February to December of that year.
However, according to a source, she has reportedly distanced herself from her partnership with the chart-topper.
‘They’re still friendly but have taken a step back and aren’t dating,’ the insider dished.
There were reports suggesting that following a brief hiatus, Jenner and Bad Bunny (whose real name is Benito Ocasio) seemed to be more committed. However, it appears their relationship did not sustain long-term.
After May’s Met Gala, where Bad Bunny served as a co-chair, it was noticed that they reconnected, and throughout June, they were seen spending time together during Paris Fashion Week.
Following time spent in Europe over the summer with Bad Bunny, Kendall ‘decided she wanted space.’
The reality TV star is currently spending time with her former boyfriend, the ex-Booker, whom she dated between 2020 and 2022.
They were seen together at Miami haunt The Surf Club earlier this month.
A source near Jenner’s circumstances shared that she currently prefers to remain unattached. Moreover, Kendall isn’t prepared to commit yet and is relishing this period in her life.
