One of 2025’s most anticipated horror movies gets terrifying first trailer
The first trailer has landed for Keeper, one of 2025’s most anticipated horror movies.
Under the guidance of director Osgood Perkins, known for creating ‘Longlegs’ and ‘The Monkey’, the initial trailer maintains an enigmatic air while effectively building up tension.
Featuring Tatiana Maslany from “Orphan Black” and Rossif Sutherland, the movie “Keeper” tells the story of couples Malcolm and Liz, as they embark on a peaceful retreat to a remote cabin, aiming for a tranquil romantic escape.

However, as Malcolm hastily returns to the city, Liz finds herself solitarily confronting a menacing entity that begins to reveal the ominous past of the cabin.
Or:
But when Malcolm quickly departs for the city, it’s Liz who must deal with an eerie force that starts exposing the hidden, ominous aspects of the cabin on her own.
In the unsettling opening scene, different women appear cheerfully on camera, only for events to take a chilling turn as they’re shown screaming in terror, with traces of blood streaming down their faces.
In a softer tone, a woman says, “This location doesn’t suit me,” as the movie’s slogan declares, “You don’t fit this place.
To make things eerier, at the time of writing the trailer was sitting on 69,666 views.
Keeper hits cinemas on 14 November.
In contrast to both “Longlegs” and “The Monkey”, which were penned by Perkins, “Keeper” was authored by Nick Lepard. Filming for this occurred amidst the 2023 strikes, a time when Perkins had breaks in his production for “Longlegs” and “The Monkey”.
In an interview with Digital Spy last year, Perkins shared insights on the collective approach he takes when making his films, including those where he serves as both writer and director.
Making movies is fantastic because you’re rarely working on your own; instead, you’re surrounded by others. The notion that a director creates a movie independently is outdated and somewhat misleading since everyone contributes their unique spirit to the project,” he explained.
In every film, there comes a point when you sense, ‘Ah, everyone here is striving for excellence.’ Each individual aims to outperform their neighbor or at least match the performance of those around them.
He usually says, ‘I aim to handle things gently, letting others take charge, and strive to create something enjoyable and worthwhile, which I can proudly support.’ He reiterated this.
Keeper hits UK and US cinemas on 14 November.
