One last chance: Fantastic Four’s Ioan Gruffudd and his ex-wife are thrown a lifeline to resolve their bitter dispute or face lengthy trial

Ioan Gruffudd, known for his role in Fantastic Four, and his former wife, Alice Evans, have a final opportunity to settle their disagreements about finances and their two daughters. If they can’t reach an agreement, they face a potentially expensive nine-day court trial.

Gruffudd arrived at the Santa Monica Courthouse on Friday looking calm and put-together. He wore a navy suit, a light blue shirt, black dress shoes, and designer sunglasses.

Evans, 57, was a no-show at the brief hearing.

Originally, a resolution was expected by December 19th. This followed an order from Judge Michael Convey requiring the former couple, along with their attorneys Joseph Langlois and Janina Verano, to participate in a private settlement conference on December 4th.

Despite over two hours of talks, the two parties couldn’t come to an agreement on key disagreements. These included a request by Gruffudd to stop paying alimony and a plea to extend a restraining order protecting him, his wife Bianca Wallace (33), from alleged stalking and online harassment.

However, Evans is requesting that the court require Gruffudd to pay more than the current $1,500 per month in spousal support.

Gruffudd and Wallace recently had a baby daughter named Mila. Gruffudd also has two daughters, Ella, 16, and Elsie, 12, with Evans.

Even though talks stalled earlier this month, the lawyers convinced the judge to let them try again to reach an agreement. They’ve scheduled another required meeting to try and settle the case for January 6th.

If they don’t reach a settlement, the case will go to trial in February 2026, where issues like the restraining order and spousal support will be decided by a judge.

Despite the challenges, Langlois remained hopeful, telling DailyMail.com that they are continuing to negotiate and anticipate a resolution within the next week or two.

Recently, court filings obtained by the Daily Mail revealed that Evans stated she was struggling financially, to the point of needing to borrow money from friends and relying on a GoFundMe campaign that collected $18,000.

Evans says she and her daughters, Ella (16) and Elsie (12), are struggling financially after being evicted from their Los Angeles home because they couldn’t afford the $6,500 monthly rent, and she is asking for increased spousal support.

She contended that she had to ‘burn through’ her savings to pay living expenses and legal fees.

She believes Gruffudd, who married Wallace in April, has the financial means to pay more than the current $3,000 monthly child support and $1,500 in spousal support.

Gruffudd is disputing his ex-wife’s requests for financial support. In legal documents, he strongly denied her accusations, stating she deliberately got herself evicted by stopping rent payments and instead took their children on a trip to Europe.

He claimed she was pretending to be broke to damage his reputation and pressure him into paying more child support than he could realistically manage.

Gruffudd stated that bank records show Evans earned over $130,000 in 2024 and is projected to make a similar amount this year, but Evans has dismissed these claims as untrue and deceptive.

In a court document, Gruffudd stated he was deeply upset to have received many anxious messages from his children repeating false claims made by Alice about them becoming homeless soon.

But Evans denied manipulating the children into sending plaintive messages to their father.

In court documents, she stated she never asked her children to contact Gruffudd regarding their eviction and potential homelessness. She also confirmed the children understood their family was facing financial hardship and being evicted.

Evans also refuted Gruffudd’s claim that his former partner continues to break a three-year restraining order by stalking him, harassing him, and posting negative comments about him online.

She claimed the restraining order was an attempt by Gruffudd to silence her and infringe upon her right to free speech.

She firmly denied any stalking behavior, stating she had no knowledge of where the couple lived and no desire to follow them. She called the accusation ‘ridiculous’.

Okay, so I’ve been following this whole thing with Rhys and Lucy, and honestly, it’s been heartbreaking. Rhys had to get a restraining order against Lucy back in August 2022 because she was just relentlessly harassing him! He told the court she basically started this awful campaign of nasty texts, emails, and just flooded social media with horrible things… all aimed at scaring him and his fiancée, Bianca, and even trying to turn their kids against him. It’s just… awful. I’m so glad he’s protecting himself and his family!

During a court hearing last September, the temporary restraining order against Evans was extended until March 6, 2026, which is the final day the trial is currently scheduled for.

During the hearing, he stated he doesn’t want to increase his alimony payments and actually wants to end them completely.

Gruffudd plans to ask the court to end any support payments because Evans keeps breaking the restraining order.

You know, it’s funny how life works! I always love hearing about couples who meet in unexpected places, and Ioan Gruffudd and Alice Evans have a particularly sweet story. They first connected over 20 years ago while filming ‘102 Dalmatians,’ and sparks definitely flew! It wasn’t long before their on-screen chemistry turned into something real, and they eventually tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony in Mexico back in 2007.

I was absolutely devastated when Alice posted that Gruffudd was leaving her! After fourteen years together, it was such a shock. Apparently, he actually filed for divorce back in March 2021, but her social media post was how we all found out. It was just… heartbreaking to see after all that time.

They were divorced in July 2023.
