Once Human reveals its Development Roadmap for 2025, bringing new scenarios, mobile launch and more

As an experienced gamer with years of survival action titles under my belt, I can confidently say that NetEase Games’ 2025 roadmap for Once Human has me truly excited! With three new scenarios, four Visional Wheels, and numerous optimizations planned throughout the year, it seems the team is dedicated to keeping players engaged.

NetEase Games has revealed a development plan for their action survival game “Once Human” in 2025, which includes the worldwide release of its mobile version, three new scenarios, an early access server, custom server, and the introduction of “Hide Cradle” and “Gender Change” features. The roadmap shows promising advancements, with a variety of thrilling features, collaborative events, numerous improvements, and more, scheduled for rollout throughout all four quarters of 2025.

NetEase Games revealed their development strategy for Once Human on platform X (previously known as Twitter). Their yearly blueprint is split into four sections:

First Quarter of 2025 Q1

On January 16, 2024, several new aspects or features called “Lunar Oracle” (Visional Wheel S1) will debut in the game. This event will involve a blend of danger and opportunity. The Lunar Oracle will introduce a fresh theme where a blood-red moon rises, causing an enigmatic plague to affect both Deviants and Meta-Humans.

Furthermore, the game is set to introduce a new option for customizing your character’s appearance – the ability to change their gender. The upcoming update will also include two exciting sections: “Eternaland” and an Escape Room. Between February and March, players can expect several enhancements such as the “Hide Backpack” feature, the release of Version 1.0 for the Custom Server, and the addition of a new mini-game called “Eternaland Shooting”.

Second Quarter of 2025 Q2

In April of 2025, the long-awaited news arrives: Once Human is now officially launching on mobile devices! Pre-registration for the game can be done through your Google Play Store or App Store. The technical test for Android and iOS versions was successfully completed on September 2024. Additionally, the much-anticipated Visional Wheel S2 will make its debut this month as well.

In May and June, you’ll enjoy the advantage of early play for fresh scenarios and enhancements. Specifically, we’re providing early access to two new storylines, “Code: Broken” and “Code: Purification”. Furthermore, optimizations for “The Way of Winter” will be available early on, coinciding with the release of version 2.0 for our Custom server.

Third Quarter of 2025 Q3

In simpler terms, you can expect a wealth of new game content during the third quarter, with three fresh scenarios becoming accessible from July through September.

• Code: Broken: This scenario introduces an all-out battle where superweapons are the key to securing the win.
• Code: Deviation: It offers similar all-out battles. And in both scenarios, your choices have the power to change the fate of the world.
• Code: Purification: In this scenario, Meta-Humans must work together to decontaminate the wilderness and eliminate the Original Entities, ultimately restoring the balance to the world ravaged by pollution.

As a gamer, I’m thrilled to share that in the coming months, we’ll be rolling out not one, but two new versions of the Visional Wheel – S3 and S4! Furthermore, we have two exciting optimizations lined up: enhancements for Prismverse’s Clash and The Way of Winter optimization. Can’t wait to dive in and experience the improvements!

Fourth Quarter of 2025 Q4

Ultimately, the game will introduce the Visual Wheel S5 and an engaging crossover experience during the fall months, specifically October to December. Players can anticipate a well-developed collaborative event from the game, as developers have plenty of time to craft the event.
