For a quarter of a century, Sydney radio personality Jackie “O” Henderson has served as the professional partner, or work spouse, to shock jock Kyle Sandilands at KIIS FM. Despite this long-standing partnership, they’ve never pursued a romantic relationship.

On Thursday, during the Ask Me Anything segment, Kyle clarified any speculations about his professional relationship with Jackie that had been ongoing for over two decades.

‘Mate, I’m just wondering,’ a listener called Craig began. 

‘I don’t know if you ever have or haven’t, but how come you’ve never hooked up with Jackie O?

‘As it seems to be the type of woman you like?’ 

‘You must be a new listener Craig!’ Kyle responded as Jackie burst out laughing. 

‘She is lovely. We’re best friends,’ Kyle answered. 

For a while now, we have had a friendship that isn’t based on going out together, drinking, or socializing with each other’s romantic partners. It’s more of a platonic bond.

‘But it’s a solid friendship. We’ve never hooked up.’ 

Newsreader Brooklyn Ross interrupted: ‘Well, you kissed in a TV ad didn’t you?’   

‘Well that’s like being an actor,’ Jackie said. 

‘You were still making out,’ Brooklyn interjected, which both radio hosts quickly shut down. 

Kyle emphasized, “In that advertisement, we shared a kiss, but hasn’t it always been off the table for both of us?

‘When we met, you weren’t single. I wasn’t single,’ Jackie added. 

‘I had just met Lee (my ex-husband) and that began an 18 year relationship. Then I got single.’

‘—Then she got fat so come on,’ Kyle joked. 

‘When I became single and separated from Lee, what was your status?’ Jackie asked him. 

Kyle mentioned, “Perhaps you didn’t notice, but it can be challenging to stay on top of things.” Essentially, he was implying that you might have had other priorities given the circumstances, and understanding this is a complex task for him at the moment.

Kyle got married to his petite, fair-haired wife Tegan Kynaston in a heritage-listed mansion situated in the Darling Point area of Sydney in April 2023, in the presence of approximately 130 guests.

They have a one-year-old son together, Otto. 

2018 found Kyle in a prolonged relationship with model Imogen Anthony. They parted ways in November 2019, and later, in an open declaration, he was seen with his previous personal assistant, Tegan.

Jackie is now unattached since her separation from former spouse Lee Henderson in the year 2018, who they had been married to for fifteen years.

Back in the late ’90s, I was absolutely smitten by this radio sensation who had shared my airwaves with the charming Phil O’Neil for a hearty four years. However, our fairytale partnership came to an end as we parted ways in 1999 after the bitter taste of divorce.

In 2003, a surprising incident occurred in Australia as two radio hosts shared a passionate kiss during an ad for 2Day FM, leaving many listeners stunned.

In 2017, Kyle shared with his audience that Jackie’s spouse, Lee, got quite animated as he observed the developing intimate moment.

During our conversation about the film, Kyle stated that Lee appeared to be an unconventional husband as he expressed interest in watching his wife share a kiss with someone else.

Kyle pondered, finding it strange that Jackie’s spouse was present on the set. A thought crossed his mind: could they perhaps let him go?

However, it turned out that he was rather skilled, being the kind of husband that is well-known for having a unique interest. In this case, he was the peculiar husband eager to observe and provide constructive feedback.

In this renowned commercial, Jackie O and Kyle are captured sharing a prolonged, meaningful gaze while seated with their microphones.

Through a narration, Jackie expresses: “Often, folks speculate that there might be a history between me and Kyle – they assume we were once dating, or perhaps even shared a single evening together.

She stated, “There’s never been anything between us. Frankly, it’s hard for me to envision him in such a manner,” she remarked, prior to video showing them both entering an elevator together.

After the lift doors close, Jackie throws Kyle against a wall and starts kissing him passionately.

Kyle mimicked, “Hey Jackie, you need to push Jack harder against the elevator there, move in closer!

‘Yeah but that’s what the ad required- over the top!’ Jackie hit back.

In 2015, the duo recreated the ad, but with a twist; instead of Kyle kissing Jackie as originally planned, he was shown smooching someone who resembled Jackie, while Jackie was matched with a canine companion in the footage.
