OMG! The New Harry Potter Cast Is Finally Here!

As a die-hard fan of the magical realm, I’ve been captivated by seven main series books, eleven films that include three Fantastic Beasts prequels, a stage sequel, and an endless array of spinoffs – from theme parks and video games to merchandise and beyond. Now, the enchanting Wizarding World is poised to extend its spellbinding tales into another medium: television.

Warner Bros. Discovery unveiled plans for a fresh live-action Harry Potter television series in the year 2023, with each book from the primary series being transformed into one of seven seasons that will be released over a decade on the cable network HBO and their streaming service HBO Max.

J.K. Rowling, author of the books originally published in 1997, expressed her excitement about joining this upcoming television series as an executive producer. She believes that the extended format of a long-running TV show will provide an opportunity for richness and intricacy previously unattainable.

Warner Bros. Discovery revealed that the upcoming series will showcase a fresh cast to captivate a new era of fans, offering intricate details, cherished characters, and breathtaking settings reminiscent of those that have enchanted Harry Potter enthusiasts for more than two decades.

In these initial films, actors like Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and others gained fame, with notable performances from Alan Rickman, Helena Bonham Carter, and Ralph Fiennes adding to their charm.

As a die-hard cinema enthusiast, I can’t hide my excitement as we inch closer to the premiere of the rebooted series in late 2026 or early 2027! Warner Bros. Discovery has been gradually unveiling the star-studded cast, and their latest announcement on June 9 added nine new names to the roster. I can hardly wait to see who will bring these characters to life!

Here’s everyone we know so far that will be in the new Harry Potter series.

16-year-old Scottish actor Dominic McLaughlin is stepping into the shoes of the main character, a role previously played by Radcliffe in the movies. McLaughlin will also feature in the upcoming Sky comedy film “Grow” and the BBC children’s series “Gifted,” both slated for release in 2025.
