Omen is the most picked agent across all regions in Stage 2

In Stage 2, VALORANT revealed data about the most frequently chosen characters across all regions, with Omen taking the lead position.

It’s widely acknowledged among top VALORANT players that Omen is one of the game’s most powerful agents, with him being the most frequently chosen character across all regions. Riot Games disclosed pick rate statistics for Stage 2, which concluded on August 31, 2025, and only three characters outshone others in this regard.

Omen is the most picked agent internationally

In the top-tier VALORANT scene, it’s a consensus among the four main regions – China, Americas, Pacific, and EMEA – that Omen is one of the most powerful agents in the game. This controller agent has been dominating pick rates significantly, being chosen in 86% of matches in China, 80% in EMEA, 78% in the Americas, and 74% in the Pacific region.

In terms of the favored agent coming in second place, it seems to divide different regions. Specifically, Sova was the popular pick in China (52%) and Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) at 54%, while Viper dominated in the Americas (59%) and the Pacific (56%). The same pattern persists for the third-place favorite. In China, games often featured Viper chosen 50% of the time, while in EMEA, Sova was picked 46% of the time. Interestingly, when looking at the remaining regions, both Sova and Viper were equally popular, each being picked about 51% of the time.

During Stage 2, Controller agents held the majority of influence. Some players argue that Omen, among all characters, maintains a well-balanced status within the game. However, there are others who feel strongly that additional enhancements should be made to the less favored agents like Astra and Harbor, especially advocating for these changes.

VCT Stage 2 viewership

Viewership figures fluctuate significantly across various geographical areas. To illustrate this, the European Viewership and Content Tournament (VCT) EMEA saw a rise in peak viewer count from 199,788 in 2024 to 274,774, as reported by Esports Charts. The series between BBL and Team Liquid at the Upper Bracket Finals was the one that attracted the most viewers.

Contrastingly, VCT Americas experienced a drop in viewers. The peak viewership decreased from 394,975 in the year 2024 to 295,084 in 2025. A significant portion of the audience that remains can be attributed to the Brazilian community, as LOUD was part of four out of the five most-watched matches. Once more, they have demonstrated their substantial impact on the region’s statistics.

On the contrary, the VCT Pacific has consistently seen an increase in its peak viewership. The number climbed from 332,089 in 2024 to 426,912 in 2025. It seems that there’s been a growing curiosity among the community towards this region over the past year. This surge could be attributed to the outstanding performances delivered by Pacific teams on the international stage. It’s worth noting that both Masters tournaments this year were won by Pacific teams: T1 at Masters Bangkok and Paper Rex at Masters Toronto.

In summary, VCT China has experienced a slight dip in its audience, decreasing from 39,601 in 2024 to 37,537 this year. Despite having fewer viewers compared to other regions, the allure of Chinese esports continues to grow, drawing more international spectators. Remarkably, the average international viewership has more than doubled, rising from 5,027 to 10,555.
