Olympics broadcast center and movie studio coming to Hollywood Park
Stan Kroenke, owner of the Rams, plans to construct a movie studio near SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, which will function as the global broadcast hub during the 2028 Olympic Games.
Beginning this summer, a studio and broadcasting facility will be built, accommodating approximately 300 international broadcasters who hold rights to report on the Summer Games in Los Angeles, as announced by Kroenke’s company on Tuesday.
Following the conclusion of the Games, Hollywood Park Studios is set to transition into a hub for filmmaking, producing TV shows, various projects, and possibly hosting live events or broadcasts.
The project is connected with Hollywood Park, an expansive, multi-billion dollar construction established over the old race track location, famously known as Hollywood Park. This complex encompasses a stadium, residential apartments, cinemas, office spaces, retail stores, and eateries.
A high-end hotel is currently being built there, with plans for additional growth such as a supermarket and healthcare facilities under discussion.
Kroenke’s group anticipates that the Olympic spotlight could enhance the allure of Hollywood Park Studios as a potential future hub for entertainment production.
According to Alan Bornstein, who is managing the studio’s development for Kroenke, we aim for it to gain global recognition.

Business
A 300 million dollar hotel is currently being built near SoFi Stadium, which is part of Rams owner Stan Kroenke’s extensive mixed-use project in Inglewood. This is the latest structure to be added to his development.
The studio forms a key aspect of Hollywood Park’s comprehensive growth blueprint, emphasizing media, amusement, and technological advancements, as per Bornstein. This studio is firmly rooted, with SoFi Stadium, YouTube Theater, and the NFL Media headquarters serving as its cornerstones.
I’ve noticed a fascinating trend where media, technology, and sports are merging more and more, all with the common goal of providing entertainment. This entertainment is being delivered across various platforms – streamed online, broadcast on TV, or even shown in movie theaters,” I find myself observing.
Initially, Hollywood Park Studios’ initial development spans over 12 acres, featuring five individual sound stages, each measuring 18,000 square feet. Two of these can be combined into a massive 36,000-square-foot stage.
The facility will feature an expansive three-story office building spanning 80,000 square feet, primarily designed to accommodate stage, production, and postproduction tasks. Additionally, the site will include a spacious open base camp specifically designated for parking trucks, equipment, and actors’ trailers, as well as a parking garage that can hold up to 1,100 vehicles. Further expansion plans may involve constructing up to 20 stages and an additional 200,000 square feet of office space related to these functions.
According to Bornstein, new stages will be constructed to accommodate potential tenants as demand arises; however, he refrained from providing an estimated cost for the studio complex.
Despite a period where demand for soundstages exceeded availability a couple of years back, production has since decreased, reducing the immediate requirement for them.
According to a recent report by FilmLA, an organization that monitors filming activities in the Greater Los Angeles region, last year saw an average annual occupancy rate of 63% for Hollywood productions, suggesting that the industry’s production decline has persisted.
2023 marked a drop compared to its previous 69% average regional occupancy rate. It was the year when prolonged strikes from both writers and actors significantly affected the local production industry, lasting for several months.
Exploring high-end movie studio production facilities aligns with Kroenke’s ambition to unite global sports, entertainment, and media, according to Bornstein.
Beyond the Los Angeles Rams, Kroenke also owns several other sports teams: the Denver Nuggets basketball team, the Colorado Avalanche ice hockey team, the Colorado Rapids soccer team, the Colorado Mammoth lacrosse team, and Arsenal Football Club, which is a soccer team in London’s Premier League.
During the 2028 Olympic Games, SoFi Stadium – where the Chargers play their football matches – will transform into the largest swimming venue ever for the Olympics. It will co-host the main Olympic opening ceremony alongside the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, and will also be the venue for the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games.
Besides being a prominent sports club owner, Stan Kroenke is also deeply involved in real estate development and property management. One of his significant ongoing projects is the Hollywood Park, a sprawling 300-acre mixed-use complex, which stands as one of the biggest under construction in the western U.S. The impressive SoFi Stadium was constructed at a staggering cost of $5 billion.

Rams
Stan Kroenke, proprietor of the Rams, is leading a significant construction venture in Woodland Hills. This project encompasses a brand-new base for the team, with an estimated price tag surpassing $10 billion.
Last month, he presented proposals for a brand-new Rams headquarters located on a 100-acre Warner Center site in Woodland Hills. This proposed development encompasses a residential and commercial district, with aspirations to serve as the main focal point of the San Fernando Valley. The estimated cost could potentially surpass the total worth of Hollywood Park, which has been appraised by external experts at over $10 billion.
Developing another major hub in Woodland Hills expands the Rams’ influence considerably within the Southern California region, giving them a larger market presence.
As I embark on the project of constructing a practice facility, I’ve found it’s not always necessary to be smack dab in the heart of things, as that land tends to come at a premium price. Instead, we chose a location in the Valley, where we’ve built our own unique identity, thanks to Cal Lutheran and the connections we’ve made there. Many of our players and their families reside up there, and our experience has been nothing short of positive.
Design leadership for the Warner Center headquarters and Hollywood Park Studios was taken on by architecture firm Gensler. Clayco has been appointed as the general contractor for the studio, while Pacific Edge will serve as project manager. The financing for this project has been organized by Guggenheim Investments.
