Olympian Tom Dean looks flustered as he’s pressed on Strictly appearance after he broke the rules by revealing he would be taking part on the show
As a seasoned sports enthusiast who has followed the glittering career of Tom Dean, I must say that this news about him participating in Strictly Come Dancing is nothing short of thrilling! Tom, fresh from his Olympic triumph, will be taking on a new challenge, and I can’t help but feel a tinge of excitement for what’s to come.
Tom Dean appeared embarrassed when questioned about his forthcoming performance on Strictly Come Dancing, following an accidental revelation that he would be participating in the upcoming season.
On Tuesday, the 24-year-old swimmer who won an Olympic gold medal for freestyle relay in the Summer Games, made an appearance on Capital Breakfast.
Overflowing with exhilaration following Team GB’s triumphant victory, I couldn’t help but spill the beans about my upcoming appearance on the forthcoming series of BBC’s dance extravaganza.
Yet, he was quite reserved when discussing the announcement on his radio interview with Jordan North, Chris Stark, and Sian Welby.
Despite trying to keep quiet about the rumors, it appeared as if Tom unintentionally revealed the news when his friend and Capital Breakfast co-host Chris asked him questions about it.
Later today, it turns out that Chris unintentionally revealed the secret of a surprise party planned for Tom upon his return to the UK.
On the program, Tom stayed silent when pressed about his statements, since he was participating remotely from Paris, the city where he currently resides.
Jordan quipped: ‘It’s gone a bit quiet in Paris!’
While Chris added: ‘Are we talking about this or not?’
Encouraging the others to look at Tom’s facial expression, Kemi Rodgers said: ‘Look at his lips.’
Eventually, he commented: ‘At the moment, I’m fully absorbed in cherishing the Olympic experience and spending plenty of time with my fellow athletes. I’ll wait and see what this summer brings.’
Chris said: “Absolutely correct. Tom always speaks the truth as he sees it. What cracks me up is I usually believe you’re supposed to keep quiet about things early on. It can get you into a lot of trouble, so I think he’s just being very cautious by not revealing anything prematurely in that situation.”
Tom concluded: ‘Of course. Absolutely. All about the Olympics.’
Jordan playfully hinted that he might run into Tom since it’s been speculated that Tom could also be part of the event, but he clarified that he won’t be attending for sure.
Chris joked: ‘Nor is Tom…’
Tom added: ‘I don’t know what you’re on about, I don’t know what you’re on about.’
A week ago, Tom breached the regulations of Strictly Come Dancing by disclosing that he is participating in the forthcoming season, even before the formal announcement was made.
As I’ve just confirmed the latest rumors, I’m thrilled to step into the shoes of my esteemed teammate, Adam Peaty, and join him on the competitive stage.
The BBC takes significant measures to maintain a veil of secrecy around the celebrities involved in each season, and these stars typically refrain from addressing rumors until they are formally announced.
Tom indicated, following the men’s 200 meters individual medley event at the Paris Olympics on Thursday, that he is preparing to dance on the floor.
He mentioned that, given he had completed an entire Olympic cycle, and the chance presented itself, it seemed quite appealing to him to attempt something new and challenging. He plans to engage in this new endeavor, following which he will promptly return to his training routine.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I’m excited to share that I’ll be reaching out for advice from my teammate, Adam Peaty – the dance sensation who graced the 2021 series floor with the extraordinary Katya Jones.
As someone who has been involved in various projects throughout my career, I can confidently say that there are always opportunities to learn and improve, no matter how experienced one might be. In my current endeavor, I am eagerly anticipating a new collaboration with a talented individual named Adam. Although I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting him yet, I have heard nothing but praise for his exceptional work on this project. Given that he excelled in it, I can’t wait to gain some insights and tips from him, as I believe his expertise will significantly enhance my own skills and contribute to our collective success.
As a lifestyle enthusiast who thrives in the realm of aquatic activities, I must confess that gravity sports present a challenge for me offshore. However, I’m eagerly diving headfirst into this new adventure! Given my familiarity with grueling workout regimens, I relish the prospect of the demanding training days that lie ahead. Bring it on!
As someone who has weathered many storms and faced numerous challenges, I can confidently say that the upcoming discovery we are about to embark on is something to eagerly anticipate. After completing my current tasks, I am looking forward to unwinding at home with my loved ones, recharging my batteries before diving back into our project around the end of August. The excitement is palpable and I’m certain that this new adventure will be another memorable chapter in my life story.
Back in 2015, I, a die-hard fan, was blown away when radio DJ extraordinaire, Scott Mills, spilled the beans on the extreme measures the BBC takes to shield the cast of each season from prying eyes. Simply put, they go to great lengths to keep the lineup under wraps!
He said: ‘They’re so worried about it leaking out as to who’s on it, it’s like a massive secret.
It’s quite clear that the newspapers are often speculating. They go to great lengths to conceal their guesses, even giving everyone pseudonyms each year, which made me feel like a secret agent, just like James Bond – it was really exciting!
On Tuesday, Tom was a member of the victorious British quartet that secured the gold medal in the 4×200 men’s freestyle swimming event during the Olympics held in Paris.
According to a source, The Sun reported that Tom was signed: “Landing an athlete who just won gold at the Paris Olympics is quite a win for the show’s producers. Swimmers have proven to make excellent contestants.”
People often stand out due to their fitness, competitive spirit, and unwavering drive to triumph. In this case, Tom is still buzzing with excitement following his win in France.
‘He doesn’t quite have the same profile as other top-level swimmers yet but that’s likely to drastically change after his time on Strictly.
Hey there! Guess who snatched three golden trophies and a couple of silvers at the 2002 European Championships, all in team events? Yours truly from Berks – Tom was the man of the hour! And if that wasn’t enough to make heads turn, I also grabbed a stunning bronze medal in the individual 200m freestyle. Just call me the swimming sensation of ’02!
In addition, he clinched two gold medals during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, one in the men’s 200-meter freestyle and another in the men’s 4×200-meter freestyle relay.
The swimmer was made an MBE in the 2022 New Year Honours.
Tom isn’t the newcomer when it comes to participating in Strictly; Ellie Simmonds participated in the 2022 edition, following Adam who joined in 2021, and Mark Foster swam his way through the 2008 series.
