Olly Murs Cancels Gigs Last Minute Due to Health Scare After Troubling Performance
Olly Murs has had to cancel his performances this weekend in Birmingham and Manchester due to falling sick.
41-year-old performer announced that he had to cancel his Glasgow concert on Thursday due to a respiratory illness, having only performed for a short 20 minutes.
The music producer posted on Instagram a picture of him making a thumbs-down gesture towards the camera, letting everyone know that doctors have recommended him to take some time off to let his vocal cords heal.
I regretfully inform everyone in Manchester and Birmingham that I must sadly cancel my performances scheduled for this coming weekend.
Due to catching a chest infection, my doctor has advised me to take a complete 48-hour break from speaking to avoid any additional harm to my vocal cords.

I found myself in a state of anxiety, unsure of how to proceed, leaving me with no other option than to tackle the situation head-on. Today, the idea of disappointing you, my supporters, has weighed heavily on me.
Olly offered an apology to his Glasgow audience, explaining that he was unfortunately unable to continue performing due to some unforeseen circumstances.
He commented: ‘It was tough to witness your presence last night as I spoke, noticing the distress on many faces. From the deepest part of my being, I extend my sincere apologies, for prioritizing my own health was necessary.’
Everyone who made a purchase as a fan will get their money back at the original point of transaction. This process should occur automatically within the coming seven days.
Apologies once more, my dear friends. You all know that I have a deep affection for the stage and performing, it’s one of my greatest passions. Right now, I’m going through some tough times.
I’ve lost my voice.
He went on to say: ‘This has never happened to me before but you can hear my voice is going.
As your trusted guide for an exceptional lifestyle, I feel compelled to deliver an unforgettable concert experience that truly lives up to its potential. To ensure this happens, I must temporarily step away and return with renewed energy. Rest assured, I will be back, eager to continue our journey of discovering the best life has to offer.

Before the venue’s lights brightened, there was a hush among the audience, and those spectators who had spent over £57.55 for their entry passes were requested to vacate the premises.
On another occasion, Olly didn’t make it to a concert in Glasgow because he couldn’t perform as the opening act for Take That back in May, with only a few minutes left until showtime.
Later, he expressed on his Instagram Stories: “I regretfully had to leave the stage and call off the Glasgow performance. This hasn’t happened in my 15-year career.
Generally, singers can manage to carry on even if their voices aren’t perfect. Tonight, I exited the stage feeling confident about my voice. Although I felt a bit under the weather, I didn’t think it would prevent me from performing or else I wouldn’t have taken the stage.
It’s quite evident that what I just performed wasn’t up to the mark. It’s not fair to you, who have invested time and money to attend this event, as I should be giving you the finest performance possible. I apologize and will strive to improve.
He concluded by expressing: ‘I am deeply regretful, straight from the depths of my heart, I hope to overcome this situation.’
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but express my dismay. Sharing the stage with Blue, I was eagerly anticipating the main event. However, things took an unexpected turn, and I found myself left wanting more when the concert got cut short.
After singing five tunes, he unexpectedly paused. He mentioned he’d find a solution, yet moments later, we were instructed to depart.

Later on, Olly informed his social media audience that he’d be visiting a physician tonight, promising an update for fans looking forward to attending his upcoming weekend performances.
It’s not the first occasion this year that Olly has had to scrap a performance because of health problems; earlier in February, he withdrew from his Dubai concert mere hours before it started.
Originally, he was set to take the stage at Bla Bla Dubai, but sadly, he had to cancel his appearance because of a painful throat infection. To break the news, he shared a touching apology on Instagram.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I regretfully find myself compelled to share some unfortunate news. Tonight, my dear friends in the vibrant city of Dubai, I must disappoint you as I am forced to cancel our scheduled performance at Bla-Bla due to a pesky throat infection. My apologies for any inconvenience this may cause, and I truly hope we can make it up to you soon.
Oh, I’m really disappointed. I can’t wait to return as quickly as possible, and I’ll update you with the new schedule details as soon as they become available! Take care, Olly x.
In an update for the fans, Olly appeared sick while posting a genuine selfie, accompanied by this message: “My voice is shattered. Disappointed, Dubai, I’ll return soon.
Last week, Olly was met with boos by his own fans as he made a strange admission during a show.
On his 15 Years of Hits tour, the performer found himself in Liverpool, welcomed by a crowd eager and bursting with anticipation, ready to join him in singing his most popular tunes.
However, midway through the performance, the singer known as The Troublemaker allowed one of his bandmates to make a spectacle of themselves, causing an unpleasant shift in the atmosphere among the audience.
As the show continued, I found myself pausing, my heart pounding with anticipation as I turned toward the screen behind me, admitting to the crowd, “I’m completely clueless as to what will materialize before my eyes next.
In the picture displayed, it showed Olly reaching out and touching the “This Is Anfield” sign situated at Liverpool Football Club’s stadium, which incited a chorus of boos from a large number of opposing Everton fans present.
Amidst a divided audience, some applauding enthusiastically while others voiced their disagreement vociferously, Olly persisted with, ‘Naturally, this might elicit the loudest disapproval tonight.’
‘I am a Manchester United fan.’

The singer then burst into laughter as boos became louder, before joking: ‘Shall I go?’
For the remainder of the performance, everything ran flawlessly as Olly delivered an array of his top tunes, generating plenty of excitement.
Or, in a more conversational tone:
After that minor hiccup, the rest of the show went off without a hitch, with Olly singing one hit after another, creating quite a buzz.
According to the Liverpool Echo, there was a touching instance when he paid tribute to his late friend Caroline Flack, who tragically passed away in 2020.
Olly composed the song “Dear Darling” especially for Caroline, as he often reflects on her daily in front of his audience.
I can relate to the heartache of losing someone dear. As we listen to this tune together, let’s remember and honor those special individuals by singing along with me.
On Saturday, the ongoing 15 Years of Hits tour will be held at the O2 in London, followed by a stop at the OVO Arena Wembley on Sunday, where the performer is scheduled to appear.
