Olivia Rodrigo fans are left FURIOUS after Co-op live provides update on her rescheduled Manchester dates FIVE MONTHS after cancelled gigs
As a long-time concertgoer who has seen my fair share of shows being postponed or canceled due to unforeseen circumstances, I can certainly empathize with the fans of Olivia Rodrigo who were eagerly anticipating her Manchester shows only to have them once again delayed. The disappointment and frustration must be palpable for those who had meticulously planned their outfits, purchased tickets, booked hotels, and made other arrangements in preparation for the event.
Fans of Olivia Rodrigo are fuming following the latest announcement from Co-op Live regarding new concert dates for the singer.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I found myself in a situation where I had to scrap the Manchester leg of my Guts world tour back in May. The grand Co-op Arena, a venue worth an impressive £350 million, postponed its opening show for the third time, causing me to reschedule my performances.
Olivia’s shows scheduled for Fridays and Saturdays in the city have been cancelled, and the venue plans to announce new dates for these events within the upcoming week.
Despite the anticipation, supporters grew enraged as they had to wait five months without any news, leading some to demand refunds, believing the tour was concluded.
On Instagram, Co-op Live shared: ‘Next week, we’ll announce the new dates for Olivia Rodrigo’s two concerts in Manchester that were earlier postponed. Keep an eye out for updates!’
However, the declaration did not sit well with fans, who voiced their displeasure through comments.
They wrote: ‘lollll what i literally just sent the email asking to refund’;
2 days ago, I finally received my long-awaited refund. Yet here we are, with another opportunity slipping away because it took you five grueling months to act on something that was bound to happen eventually! Now, sadly, I find myself without a ticket for the event, left high and dry by your tardiness.
I didn’t request a refund last night, as Olivia mentioned her tour was over and neither you nor Ticketmaster had provided any updates. It’s quite amusing, really.
It’s high time, @cooplive, to address this question: What happened to the interest accrued on the money used to purchase tickets for a concert that was ultimately cancelled, leaving people waiting for months for updates? Who has profited from this situation?
Last week, I received a refund for my tickets following your confirmation that there were no updates.
others expressed their disappointment and irritation, remarking “It took you so long!” or “Still no apology after five months for the delay.
‘Given that we’ve been waiting for six months, what’s a little more time?’ or ‘Considering we’ve waited six months, how much longer could it possibly be?’
As a lifestyle expert, I’m gently reminding you about the conversation we had regarding the compensation for the significant financial losses many of us have incurred due to unexpected travel and accommodation costs. I hope this matter is still being addressed and progressing well.
Some spectators wondered if additional tickets would become available for the performances, as ticket-seekers found themselves unfortunate during the initial sale.
They asked: ‘Will there be more tickets added?’; ‘I hope there’s extra tickets’; ‘is there gonna be a new sale with the new dates ?’
TopMob have contacted Olivia’s representatives for comment.
Earlier, Olivia expressed her deep disappointment and sadness about having to postpone the scheduled Manchester shows due to what she perceived as inadequate management of the venue openings.
According to them, the show was called off due to a part of the ventilation system coming loose from the ductwork, an issue they attributed to a manufacturing flaw in that specific equipment.
In an Instagram post, Olivia Rodrigo shared: “Hey there! I’ve been absolutely loving my time in Europe thus far, but I’m really bummed out because we can’t give a performance in Manchester due to persistent technical problems with the venue.
We’re making every effort to arrange the performance. If you prefer, keep your tickets handy for future updates, or alternatively, you may opt for a refund from where you initially bought them. Details will be communicated exclusively to ticket holders.
‘I’m so bummed and I really hope to see you all soon.’
Excited followers expressed their frustration on social platforms, criticizing management for not being able to prepare the venue properly for the third occasion, following delays in scheduling earlier opening events.
Olivia Lee Middleton, a fan, expressed her disappointment to TopMob, stating: “It’s hard to comprehend that such a massive amount of money was invested in this venue, and yet a crucial part like the air conditioning system malfunctions.
In a video she shared, TikToker Chelsea Salt expressed her excitement, mentioning that this event was special since it’s not often she goes out at night, and this particular occasion held significant importance for her.
We invested a considerable amount of effort into the details, discussing our plans, reserving accommodations, arranging surprises, purchasing my makeup online, buying coordinating bracelets, and deliberating over outfits.
‘I’m just absolutely gutted. It’s just such a shame and they’ve let so many people down.’
