As a follower who has grown up admiring Olivia Newton-John’s remarkable spirit and resilience, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia and gratitude as her daughter Chloe Lattanzi prepares to honor her mother’s legacy by participating in the Olivia’s Walk for Wellness. The fact that this event is taking place in Melbourne, where my grandmother used to take me for picnics in Alexandra Gardens, makes it even more special.


Chloe Lattanzi, Olivia Newton-John’s daughter, has announced her plans to travel back to Australia towards the end of this year to pay tribute to her mother’s memory.

On a typical Thursday, an American entertainer, aged 38, chose Instagram as her platform to share the news that she would participate in the Olivia’s Walk for Wellness event happening in Melbourne on October 6th.

In a brief video, Chloe invited her followers to participate in an enjoyable day out, all proceeds of which will go towards funding cancer research.

‘And please bring your puppies,’ Chloe added in her gushing post.

In the given caption, the actress associated with Paradise Beach announced that the theme for the 2024 walk is “Let’s Get Active” and suggested participants wear fashion from the ’80s.

The theme appears to be a tribute to Olivia’s 1981 smash hit song Physical.

Apart from sharing other details, Chloe additionally told her audience that the 11th edition of the Olivia Walk for Wellness is scheduled to happen in the picturesque Alexandra Gardens of Melbourne.

However, international fans can sign up for the charity event which aims to raise  money for free wellness programs at the ONJ Cancer Cancer in Heidelberg, Victoria.

Chloe also travelled to Australia to take part in the popular event last year.

Following Chloe’s disclosure about her personal health issues, stemming from the loss of her mother to breast cancer in 2022.

Olivia died at 73 years of age after battling the disease for 20 years.

She shared in an Instagram video, only a year following Olivia’s death, that she hasn’t been well, experiencing severe memory issues and struggles with waking up each day. She also mentioned that she has not been taking care of herself properly.

One key piece of advice from my mother has always been self-care. Consequently, I will be out of reach for approximately three weeks as I am dealing with some mental and physical health concerns.

Chloe is Olivia’s only child, born in 1986 from her first marriage to actor Matt Lattanzi..

1992 marked the time when Olivia was initially diagnosed with breast cancer. Since then, she’s been actively involved in raising funds for further research and advocating for cancer awareness. Fortunately, her treatment proved effective, leading to a state of remission.

Sadly, Olivia’s cancer returned in both 2013 and 2017. 

In the year 2012, the Olivia Newton-John Wellness and Research Centre made its debut, and since then, it has provided assistance that has touched the lives of countless individuals.

Later on, Debbie Shiel, the head of fundraising at the center, referred to Newton-John as a trailblazer due to her initiatives.

In 2019, Olivia Newton-John received the honor of becoming a Companion of the Order of Australia, and she was additionally bestowed with the title of Commander in the Order of the British Empire.

Following Olivia’s passing, there was a wave of public sorrow and touching homages from people who knew her well, such as her Grease costar John Travolta and the premier of Victoria, Dan Andrews, who arranged for a state funeral to honor her memory.

The beloved actor and singer died at her home in Santa Ynez, California on August 8, 2022.
