Olivia Munn has revealed that she almost quit acting before landing her recent role.
In the recently premiered dramedy series titled “Your Friends & Neighbors“, you’ll find our actor sharing the screen with Jon Hamm and Amanda Peet. This is her long-awaited return to the small screen, as it signifies her first on-screen role in quite some time.

In her own words, Munn shared, “I reached out to my representatives and my supervisor and told them, ‘I no longer wish to appear on camera – please don’t assign me to any projects.’
However, the star changed her mind when she was offered a role in Your Friends & Neighbors.
The show, crafted by Jonathan Tropper, centers around Andrew “Coop” Cooper (Hamm), a former hedge fund manager who’s struggling to find his footing after a bitter divorce. Following an unexpected termination from work, Andrew resorts to stealing from his well-to-do community to maintain his extravagant lifestyle.
Simultaneously, Munn portrays Sam, a divorcee immersed in Hamm’s extravagantly thriving social circle who transitions into a friend-with-benefits role. The performer revealed that she was captivated by the series for its sharp commentary on the elite wealthy class.
She noted that these individuals seem to be living without much thought or caution. They appear invincible to the world, and it’s quite captivating to observe their eventual downfall. Moreover, her character is resilient; she will go to great lengths to preserve her position and safeguard her children.
Before the start of filming the series, Munn had been receiving treatments, undergoing surgeries, and managing additional care related to her battle against breast cancer. Currently, she has achieved remission and is set to rejoin us for season two, which was previously announced prior to the show’s premiere.
According to Creator Tropper, “At first, we intended for that character to only appear in one season. However, after collaborating with her for some time, it seemed there was a general agreement among us all that we wanted her around longer.
Your Friends & Neighbors streams on Apple TV+. A second season has been confirmed.
