I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Ashley René Thuburn, a talented and versatile actress who graced our screens with her presence for many years. Having reviewed her impressive body of work, it’s clear that she left an indelible mark on the entertainment industry.

As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but express my heartfelt tribute to the phenomenal Erica Ash, who graced our screens as my Violet co-star. The sad news of her untimely passing at just 46, due to cancer in Los Angeles on Sunday, has left an unfillable void in both the film industry and in my heart. Her spirit, talent, and camaraderie will always be cherished and remembered. Rest in peace, Erica Ash.

44-year-old actress who played Hit-Monkey lamented on Monday, expressing her sorrow upon learning about Erica Ash’s death after a prolonged struggle with cancer, sharing a video clip from the 2021 movie.

2021 saw us collaborate on the film “Violet,” where she showcased her exceptional acting skills, enriching every scene. Her talent will be deeply missed; may she find eternal peace and happiness.

Olivia (born Lisa) ended her Instastory thread with the phrase: ‘F*** cancer.’

In the premiere of Justine Bateman’s directorial debut titled “Violet,” Munn and Ash took on the roles of Violet and Lila respectively. This thought-provoking film, focusing on silencing self-critical thoughts, can be streamed via Amazon Prime Video.

As an ardent admirer putting words to my profound sorrow, I’m deeply saddened by the demise of Erica Ash, a brilliant actress renowned for her work in #VIOLETthefilm. Erica embodied grace, dedication, and unparalleled talent on set. She was truly a thoroughbred in every sense.

13th March saw the half-Chinese woman disclose that she was diagnosed with luminal B breast cancer, following an MRI scan in April 2023. Since then, she’s undergone multiple surgeries, including a double mastectomy and a hysterectomy.

After her last egg collection procedure, Olivia and her three-time Emmy award-winning husband John Mulanely now have two robust embryos. These embryos are expected to grow into a sibling for their current two-year-old son Malcolm Hiệp Mulaney in the future.

Reflecting on my own journey, I cannot help but feel profound gratitude for the choices and opportunities available to me, especially when it comes to battling cancer and expanding my family. As I shared with Vogue in May, this experience has underscored the value of having options and the power that comes with them. It is a testament to the progress we’ve made as a society, and a reminder of the resilience within each of us. While challenges may arise, I am optimistic about what the future holds for me and my family, knowing that we have the ability to shape our own destinies.

‘Because I know a lot of people don’t have those options.’

Erica is tragically no longer with us, leaving behind her mother Diann Phillips Ash, her sister Adrienne Nichole Ash, her father Donald Ash, brothers Donald B. Ash and Derrick Ash, and her beloved canine companions Toa and Tao.

Following a valiant fight against cancer over a prolonged period, she found tranquility in the presence of her cherished family members at the end. This is what Diann shared with TMZ on Monday.

1. ‘Erica was an exceptional woman and gifted performer whose quick intellect, humor, and infectious enthusiasm left a lasting impact on many. Her spirit continues to resonate within us forever. To commemorate Erica’s life, the family kindly requests that contributions be directed towards the Susan G. Komen Cancer Foundation or any breast cancer organization of your preference. We appreciate the outpouring of love and sympathy during these trying moments.’

In the January 23rd episode of NBC’s Extended Family, which was titled “The Consequences of Matchmaking,” the former MADtv actress made her last appearance as Jon Cryer’s onscreen love interest, Lydia.

Ash made appearances in various films such as Scary Movie 5, Outlaw Johnny Black, and We Have a Ghost. He also graced several TV shows including Real Husbands of Hollywood, Survivor’s Remorse, In Contempt, and Legacies.

On Monday, I saw an outpouring of tributes from fellow celebrities, expressing their admiration for the ‘naughty tomboy’ we all cherish. Among them were Jamie Foxx, Loni Love, Niecy Nash Betts, Michael Jai White, Tisha Campbell-Martin, and Mike Epps. Each one of them echoed my feelings, reminding me why her unique spirit touched our hearts so profoundly.
