Olivia Munn ‘didn’t have the energy’ to make husband John Mulaney’s birthday cake… after last year’s fail
As a lifestyle expert with years of experience under my belt, I must say that Olivia Munn’s decision to purchase pre-made cakes for her husband John Mulaney’s birthday is a testament to the reality of modern-day life. With hectic schedules, multiple responsibilities, and the occasional baking disaster (as we all know from her hilarious cake fail last year), it’s refreshing to see a celebrity like Olivia prioritize self-care over perfectionism.
Olivia Munn confessed that she didn’t make her husband John Mulaney’s birthday cake, which is something she typically does.
On a Monday, the actress known for Magic Mike, aged 44 and now married to a comedian (whom she recently revealed as her husband), posted a picture on her Instagram Stories. The image showed the homemade cakes she had bought in advance to mark her partner’s forty-second birthday celebration.
One chocolate iced treat read ‘Happy Birthday,’ while the vanilla iced dessert read, ‘John John!’ Both treats boasted four red candles.
As an ardent follower, this year, I found myself lacking the vigor to whip up a less-than-stellar birthday cake, so I made my way to the local grocery store instead.
And although she didn’t bake this year’s cakes from scratch, the actress had a very good reason why.
Previously, while meticulously creating John’s cake, their two-year-old son, Malcolm, ended up wrecking the masterpiece that she had painstakingly worked on for hours.
She added a snap of 2023’s cake writing, ‘Last year’s,’ with Justin Bieber’s Sorry playing.
The three tier messy desert was decorated with vanilla icing and a pile of rainbow sprinkles plus candles that read ‘Happy Birthday.’
At that moment, Olivia posted a video of her goofy cake mishap, commenting, ‘Attempted to create a four-tier birthday cake, but the base layer slipped off.’
1. In a playful manner, she said: “Give it a thumbs-up and follow along for additional baking advice.” On a separate post, she wrote: “This cake was scrumptious… yet far from attractive. A triumph!”
In December 2021, their son Malcolm was born to the actress and Mulaney, who had made their relationship known to the public for the first time in the spring of the same year.
The comedian recently got married in secret over the Fourth of July weekend, and his birthday party takes place only a few weeks later, with the actress from X-Men: Apocalypse as his bride.
During their wedding in New York, it was just the couple’s two-year-old child and a single witness who attended the ceremony, as reported by People at a friend’s residence.
Observant followers assumed they might have gotten married in late June, as John briefly posted a picture showing him wearing a wedding ring, which he later took down promptly.
Actress from “The New Girl” shared that she opted to freeze her eggs in preparation for potential In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) treatments, following the discovery that chemotherapy and radiation may impact one’s ability to conceive, prior to undergoing a hysterectomy.
“Following my diagnosis, we opted for another attempt at egg collection, crossing our fingers that this would be a successful month,” she shared with Vogue in May.
On those instances, she disclosed that she underwent the process not just once, but three times – specifically at ages 33, 39, and more recently, at 42.
