Olivia Culpo's sisters weren't shocked by backlash over her wedding dress: 'Social media can be so toxic'

As a lifestyle expert with years of experience navigating the often tumultuous world of fashion and celebrity, I must say that Olivia Culpo’s wedding day was a beautiful spectacle of personal choice and grace under pressure. The backlash she received for her modest yet stunning Dolce & Gabbana gown was not only unwarranted but also disappointingly predictable in today’s social media landscape.

Olivia Culpo’s siblings have spoken up regarding the criticism that the influencer faced over her wedding gown selection, which caused a stir when she made her way to the altar on June 29th.

For the ceremony, the 32-year-old bride chose a very modest Dolce & Gabbana gown with long sleeves, a high neck and A-line skirt.

The ex-Miss Rhode Island USA expressed to Vogue that she didn’t aim for her appearance to suggest sexuality in any manner, be it directly or indirectly.

She shared with the media that she desired it to seem effortlessly fitting and flattering rather than dominating. To her, there was an abundance of beauty and simplicity involved.

In response to some extremely harsh remarks made on social media, Olivia (age 32) and her spouse, Christian McCaffrey (age 28), decided to address the comments directly.

‘What an evil thing to post online,’ the San Francisco 49ers running back wrote.

‘I hope you can find joy and peace in the world, the way my beautiful wife does.’

During a chat with People before teaming up with Thorne, Aurora (aged 35) and Sophia Culpo (27) discussed the harsh comments made online by their siblings’ critics.

Social media can be so toxic, and I do think people will say anything for views,’ Sophia asserted.

She stated, “They’ll resort to any means, even stirring up disputes, solely for their own benefit. And to instigate a controversy on someone’s wedding day, I find that incredibly inappropriate.

Aurora concurred, finding it rather unreasonable for anyone to express an opinion about another person’s personal selection of a wedding dress.

‘I wish I could say I was surprised,’ she continued. ‘But, people love to ruin a beautiful moment.’

Olivia opted for multiple outfits at her event, among them was a dress with no straps made from chiffon fabric featuring an empire waistline.

That frock received high praise from fans and frenemies alike.

One admirer expressed, ‘She is stunning in all aspects.’ Other comments included ‘Stunning!’ and simply ‘Beautiful.’

In the later hours of the night, she switched her attire once more for the post-event gathering. This time, she chose a ’50s inspired strapless jumpsuit and a sheer, hoop miniskirt – an outfit that drew both admiration and criticism.

One fan commented, “She changed her style drastically, going from a nun’s outfit to something very modern in no time.” Another suggested, “From religious garb to club attire…,” expressing the same idea.
