Olivia Culpo poses with 49ers WAGs after her couples Halloween costume with Christian McCaffrey sparked outrage with fans

As a long-time football enthusiast and someone who has gone through the rollercoaster of injuries while playing, I can empathize with Christian McCaffrey‘s current situation. Missing eight games due to an injury is a tough pill to swallow, especially for a player of his caliber. It’s not just about fantasy points or team records; it’s about the love for the game and the desire to be out there on the field.

This Halloween, Olivia Culpo and her husband, Christian McCaffrey, pulled off an impressive duo costume.

The thirty-two-year-old model and the twenty-eight-year-old NFL player chose to emulate characters from the classic 1939 movie, The Wizard of Oz – dressing up as Dorothy and Hickory (the Tin Man’s farmhand persona), respectively.

They wore their outfits to a pre-Halloween party, where Culpo reunited with her fellow 49ers WAGs.

Captioned by Culpo, filled with excitement, she announced on Instagram, “Time for a visit to the wizard!

In their Californian abode, the duo stood, all decked out, along with their cherished pet, Oliver Sprinkles, who took on the part of Dorothy’s canine companion Toto, in the living room.

Culpo opted for a sexier version of Dorothy’s classic look.

She modeled a short version of the character’s famous blue and white gingham dress.

The Cranston, Rhode Island native would also add a number of little red bows on the classic number and matched it with a white lace top, that she wore off-the-shoulder.

In a striking resemblance, the captivating figure from the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue was adorned with long, flowing pigtails reminiscent of Dorothy’s, and wore the iconic red slippers encrusted with rubies, just like the ones famously worn by Dorothy.

Instead of a designer purse, Olivia carried Toto’s brown whicker basket.

In the picture atop Cupo’s Instagram update, the prominent San Francisco 49ers running back stood next to his wife, with an affectionate arm around her waist, donning a shimmering attire adorned with a cap resembling the Tin Man’s distinctive oil can hat.

He also had a red heart clock pinned to his chest and a string of daisy flowers.

McCaffrey completed the ensemble by throwing in a gray long-sleeved hoodie and gloves for good measure, providing additional coverage for his head, arms, and hands. He also donned white and gray sneakers to finish off the look.

At the party, Culpo stood for pictures near the bar with Kristin Juszczyk (wife of fullback Kyle Juszczyk), Sarah Taylor (wife of wide receiver Trent Taylor), and Claire Kittle (spouse of star tight end George Kittle).

The recently unveiled Halloween photos have caused quite a buzz among NFL fantasy league fans, particularly those who count McCaffrey as part of their roster.

Due to a persistent bilateral Achilles tendonitis that has kept him out for all eight games this 2024 season, the sight of the NFL star enjoying himself has stirred some discontent in certain individuals.

Funny to note, the running back moved stiffly, maintaining his role, for Culpo’s TikTok videos, a part that didn’t seem out of place given he’s been walking with a limp following his injury.

One user expressed, ‘I’ve been ranked between 2nd and 6th in fantasy football because my initial top draft pick has been injured and resembles the Tin Man.’

Originally, they expressed: “That was my initial selection for fantasy games, and after eight weeks, it’s clear I’ve been quite disheartened during this period of fantasy gaming.

A bystander commented recently about McCaffrey’s portrayal of the character over the past 8 weeks, specifically mentioning the emotionless facial expressions that were part of it.

Over the weekend, the 49ers emerged victorious, bringing their current standing to four wins and four losses. This is quite a contrast from their impressive performance last season when they were led by McCaffrey, boasting a record of twelve wins against just four losses with him in their starting lineup, except for the last game where they took a break to prepare for the playoffs.

As a dedicated follower, I acknowledge that my relentless determination to push myself hard and run extensively during practice, as per McCaffrey’s father’s former NFL receiver Ed McCaffrey’s account, may have contributed to the current injury I’m dealing with.

In June 2019, they had their initial encounter during a blind date, arranged by a common acquaintance, even though model Culpo initially felt hesitant about the meeting.

Yet, McCaffrey’s kindness and wit won her over, leading her to recognize him as an ideal companion for her future endeavors.

In the spring of 2023, Coulo and McAffrey became engaged, and they tied the knot at the Ocean House resort in Watch Hill, Rhode Island, on June 29, 2024, marking a historic wedding day for them.

Under the direction of Victor Fleming and penned by Noel Langley, Florence Ryerson, and Edgar Allan Woolf (who adapted the story from L. Frank Baum’s 1900 novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz), the film The Wizard of Oz proved to be a success, both critically and financially, earning $2.9 million at the box office against a production budget of $2.8 million.

When adjusted for inflation, the total box office earnings amounted to approximately $67 million (or $67,370,069.78) in the year 2024.
