Olivia Colman’s highest-rated drama hailed as “exceptional” is a must-see on TV tonight

Don’t miss The Father on TV tonight! This highly praised drama, featuring Anthony Hopkins and Olivia Colman, is considered one of the best films of recent years and won two Oscars at the 93rd Academy Awards.

Okay, so I just watched this movie, and it’s seriously powerful. It’s directed by Florian Zeller, who also wrote the play it’s based on. It centers around Anthony Hopkins playing an 80-year-old man dealing with dementia, and honestly, his performance is incredible. Olivia Colman plays his daughter, Anne, and she’s fantastic too. There are also some great supporting actors like Olivia Williams and Rufus Sewell, but Hopkins and Colman really carry the emotional weight of the story.

If you didn’t catch the movie when it was released, you can watch it tonight on Film4 at 11:20 PM. It will also be available to stream on Channel 4’s on-demand service after it airs.

When The Father was released, it received widespread praise. Anthony Hopkins won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance, and Florian Zeller and Christopher Hampton won the award for Best Adapted Screenplay. The film was also nominated for Best Picture.

With a 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes from 298 reviews, The Father is the highest-rated film of Olivia Colman’s acclaimed career.
